It would have been a lot more fun with limited slip rear end. What a shame such a great car doesn't come with an LSD. It really doesn't make sense to me. It should come standard in the ZSP option like Infiniti does with their sports package.

Since you're down the road, more or less, did you hear the rather loud thunderstorm 2 nights ago? First time I can recall being awakened by a storm like that. Very unusual for January.

In Europe, for the other half of my life, I've avoided going back to Europe given the ultra severe winter weather. Really harsh.

Actually, it was quite windy driving yesterday and I didn't feel it a bit in the 330xi.

Anyone stupid enough to drive a car with Z-Rated "Summer Performance" Tires in the snow deserves to crash.

Did you actually think they would have grip in slippery conditions?

Indeed (with reference to the two posts above).

What I don't get is why someone would experience this and then boast about the experience.

This is probably a typo from your part but just to clarify that summer tires are bad in snow and ice but excellent in dry AND rain. Summer tires are much better in the rain than all season tires (with just a few exceptions).

lol I shouldn't mentioned it being bad in the ice and snow (obviously summer tires are), but these tires got really low ratings in the rain.

Maybe you should get these. I like my rubbers studded. For her pleasure of course.

Continental Vinter Viking 2 with new Brilliant studs and Nordic silica rubber. The grip is awesome. Almost like Nokian tires.

Had a similar incident. I could not make it up the hill to get to my house. I got half way up and started sliding backwards. I backed to the bottom of the hill, turned around, and went and got snow tires. Expensive, but necessary in Germany. I can’t wait for spring.

performance car = performance tires = no traction in wet, snow, slush. Sucks when it snows, cant drive.
