1er DRIFTING in AUSTRALIA
Here's a quick shot of me drifting my 125i at Sandown Racecourse in Melbourne, Australia last weekend. I attended a drift training day and learned quite a lot about the car. Check out the Australian section of the forum for more, including some video...

Umm Photoshop??
1. The horizontal motion blur is poorly done. Even though you masked the car. The motion blur still samples outside the mask which is why you are seeing the car ghosting on both sides. 2. The background asphault blur is not consistant with the foreground asphault blur. 3. The radial blur on the wheels is exaggerated and unrealistic. 4. The weight of the car is centered, where it should be shifted towards the front passenger side due to your supposed drift angle. |

I didn't say I didn't like the picture. I think it looks kinda cool actually. But he is not really drifting in this photo. He is parked and the photo was processed in photoshop to simulate motion. His other photos in the other thread, some of them are real motion shots and some of them are processed the same as the one in this thread. I am not calling him out saying he didnt participate in a drifting event or that he didnt try it. All I am saying is that photo in this thread is photoshopped big time! |

Look at the picture carefully. Twenzel's point is that something odd is going on there. The outside edges of the car are blurred, but the inner part of the car is crystal clear. That's not possible if the blurring is caused by real movement.

Geez guys, it's just a frickin' photo. I was drifting, the car was not stationary as our resident expert Twenzel suggests. Yes, I did a little Photoshop processing - adding motion blur to the surrounds, and yes, the masking is a little off. Why did I Photoshop some motion blur and ghost the image? Because I like the look of it, and it portrays more motion than the person who took the photo could, as the shutter speed was too fast.
FYI: the reason the weight is shifted to the right of the car and not the left, is because I had just transferred from a right hand drift to a left hand drift in an S bend, and the car was experiencing some understeer. I've not Photoshopped the wheels at all. Now you know. Videos will be added to YouTube eventually, and I'll post them here. More photos from the day can be found here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=23 Oh, and if you don't like 'em, Twenzel, I don't care.
