Odd engine swap

First not sure what forum this belonged in so apologise if this should be elsewhere

Just wondering if anybody has ever heard of putting a S14 engine into any of the 1 series chassis?

Dont really care about deabating costs or why i would do it. I just have some series regulations that allow me to swap any engine from same manufacturer into any other chassis from the same.

Just seems like it would make a good well balanced set-up with up to date suspension with a high revving normally aspirated engine (also have to run N/A).

A similar thing was done with the e36 compact for rallying and worked very well.

I love e30 m3's but I wouldn't put an s14 into a 1series. It will be super slow and the maintenance wouldn't be worth it.

An s54 on the other hand would be awesome.

S14 is a great engine swap for a 2002, but they are high maintenance, pricey and underpowered for a 1 series. I'd look to an s65 or an LSx

S54 or S38? I think the S14 will not be powerful enough for the 1

S14 would be terrible, the 1-series is way too heavy for that. If budget allows, it's S54/S65 time.
