Brisbane - recommended tyre place
I have a white 135 coupe and I need to get some new rear tyres. I’ve only done 20,000ks and this will be my third set.
So I need a new set of rears. BTW, if anyone could recommend a tyre I would be appreciative? My wheels have a couple of marks and scratches that I want to fix. I was also thinking about painting my wheels black? I fugure this is a good time to do it. I’d also like to get a wheel alignment just to make sure the car is driving true. I don’t mind paying a bit extra if the service is good and the advice is honest. So can anyone recommend a place where I could get all this done? I live at East Brisbane so anything inner city would be perfect, however, if someone highly recommends a place then I'd be happy to go for a drive.

Vitanza's Tyre shop in Newfarm is the one recommended by Brisbane BMW and they look after all the luxury car places in the valley: http://maps.google.com.au/maps/place...70283142105843
I got them to mount my 313 wheels and they're very good. Did them while I waited. Prices were good. Very professional. Recommended. |

Hey Guys,
I bought a set of rears, pirelli pzero rosso, from Vitanza's Tyre shop in New Farm. The service was great; I called in the morning and they fitted me in straight away. Thanks again for the advice.

now this is interesting... I just called up Vitanza for a wheel alignment and they said I can only do it at a BMW dealer because I have the sat nav and the dealer needs to reset the codes after a wheel alignment.
First time i heard of this.. true or false? |

I've never been told that - and I had a wheel alignment done my Fulcrum as part of the suspension install last week... Have you checked with the dealer?

Yup. And I'm pretty sure that Vitanza's did a wheel alignment when they mounted my 313s...

lol failed.. she was pretty adamant too that they don't have the right computer to do the work.. and I'm thinking I just want to make sure my toe is zero'd out, surely it won't throw a code..

PS: Mine went to BMW for it's Visual Inspection AFTER Vitanza's installed the 313s and did an alignment and BMW specifically told me that the car had no codes when I collected it afterwards...

Update to my tyre replacement story. I followed RaihaX's advice, and went for the Hankook V12 Ventus evo, and couldn't be happier. For any north side Brisbaneites, I got them at Tyre and Wheel Solutions in Brendale, as I work just down the road. Great service.
Prices: 215/40/18 = $220 each 245/35/18 = $320 each I paid an extra $55 for front alignment (they checked the rear and said it was spot on). All up, a total of $1135. As for the tyres, I couldn't be happier. They are really, really quiet, and the car handles beautifully. Still firm, of course with the M-Pack setup, but there's no low speed crash on bumps and potholes. I would say handling is also better than the OEM Bridgestone RFT's the car came with. There's a corner I like to take at speed, and it could get exciting with the old tyres even when new, but these tyres make it quite boring. BTW, I got 32,500km out of the old rears. There was probably another 5-10,000 left in the fronts. |
