3 month 2009 wait?
This is bogus sorry guys i felt like i just had to share this with someone, maybe one of you guys has an answer. i live in ny and i'm about to order a 2009 135i and i contact a few dealers. none of them have the 2009 prices, and i just got an email from a different dealer and he said its going to be about a 2 week wait just until they can get the prices!? this is absurd, i'm cruising the forums ad reading about people getting their 2009's already i mean seriously is this out of line? after waiting 2 weeks, then plus 6-8 i'm gonna end up waiting that long? i dunno just seems weird. i'm kinda pissed off something is telling me just get a used m3 or a 350z
thanks |

350Z not in the same class? What else can you buy if you are looking for a coupe with rear wheel drive?
My 1-series constantly reminds me of my 2004 350Z. I even think my next car could be the new 370Z. |

How do they not have 09 prices? They were announced 2 weeks ago and the 1-series configurator is up on bmwusa.com. Also no reason to stick with a local dealer. Get your best price somewhwere else and do a road trip.

I just test drove one today and was amazed at the value. Fully loaded G37 S 6 speed with Nav, Premium, backup camera, 10GB music HD, iPod, heated seats... every option - for $39K (with my discount through work, at invoice) and 0.9% interest financing. It makes placing an order for a pricier, way less pimped out 135 MUCH harder... |

I ordered my 09 at the end of August, my car was completed by the middle of September and as October approaches it still awaits transport. Is it just me or does my car just not want to leave Germany?

Yeah, I wouldn't want those idiots touching my car either. We're on the same page.

The dealer I talked to when I ordered last week said that the models being built atm are 09 "compliant" cars and are more of a merge between the 08 and some 09 changes.
If I ordered now I could get my car in Jan, but I didn't really want it until Feb so he suggested I wait 1 more month and get a proper 09 model built in Jan and arrives in March. Even though they didn't have the 09 prices I got the prices based off the 08 model. I did try to find out what info he had on the changes to the 09 range, he was aware of the removal of the SGM colour scheme and knew somewhat of the change to the i-drive system but no real info. |

I live in Europe and I still had to wait 5 months for my 1er!
At least I got an 09 model so it was worth the wait.

I wonder if BMW is pulling an Audi move and starting to withhold cars from the US market because of the exchange rate. Audi did that this summer with the A5/S5. They cancelled most of the 08 orders and are "relaunching" the car as an "09" with, of course, new pricing. BMW already said they were looking at other markets to make up for lower demand in the US. In our case it will only make the 1 more valuable - provided you can get one.

I saved $7k on my Z4 going to Oregon to buy it since the local dealer would not budge on the price. We made a weekend vacation out of it. Over the last 10 years I most likely saved the cost of my 135i by shopping around for vehicles.
