Ditto, can't stand chrome, I just had my shop send mine out to be painted matte black, which will do until someone comes out with cf replacements.

I tried wrapping mine in gloss black vinyl
Proved to be too difficult for me
I want to be able to turn the car back to stock if I was to ever sell, so I'm hesitant to have them painted.
Hopefully a vendor will jump on offering them in gloss, matte, and carbon fibre for us soon!

Pretty hectic work week, but just found some left over cans of plasti-dip from black out work I've done on previous cars.
Will spray my side markers this week and post pics!
The matte/rubbery black won't match my gloss black grills or shadow line trim, but should hold me over til someone comes out with gloss black replacements!

So my patience when it comes to this car is pretty much non-existant
Once my gloss black performance grills were on the car, each passing day the chrome side markers annoyed me more and more.
So to hold me over til gloss black side markers are released, I went through with plasti-dipping them black!

So removing the side markers is actually pretty easy.
Facing the side marker, pressing the sides of the side marker together and gently wiggling it loose will result in the bottom of the side marker popping out. From there, a gently pull straight towards yourself will release the top clips as well. Then finally, pulling the side marker towards the back of the car will release the front clip (the one towards the front of the car).
I stress that you need to be careful, as while the side marker's clips are very sturdy, the black piece behind the side marker is VERY brittle. I actually slightly bent one of them, but luckily not to the point where it was unusable.

From there, the light can be removed from the side marker with a torx screwdriver.
I also removed the M badge by using dental floss (like on the badges on the back of the car). The glue residue I just rubbed off with my thumb.

Then I just used a piece of paper to cover where the M badge is glued, applied a coat of plasti-dip, then removed the piece of paper.
I repeated until I had 4 coats on the side-marker.
Then I sprayed 2 coats on the bottom of the side-marker.

After all was dried, I used Automotive Goop to reapply the badges.

Once every is nice and dry, the side markers pop right back in. Sliding the front clip in first, then just pushing the side-marker into place. You'll hear a nice and satisfying "pop".

I'll try and get some better pictures tomorrow.
And sorry for my crappy write up, its late!

I put plastic cote on the spears on my Cayman 3 years ago, they still look like new, should hold up well and you can always peel it off and re-spray.

Here in Canada, we get a lot of sun, snow, rain; and plasti-dip has held up on my cars longer than I've kept said car
I've never taken my cars with plasti-dip through car washes though (wash my cars at home), so I'm not sure how it'll hold up there.
But it soldiers on through all the elements, and removing plasti-dip is super easy.
