Maybe they should compare the Altima Coupe V6(sorry no Infiniti) vs 128i and the 370Z/G37s vs 335i coupe. And leave the 135i in its own class...j/k. IMO i see more 350Z/G35/37 coupes on the road than the 1s/335 coupes. I know 2 lady friends that just bought G35 coupes just before the G37 came out, both are friends and they all said they can't afford a BMW. One test drove an E46 M3 and loved it but said it was way out of her budget. The other one drove a 335i coupe and liked everything except the price. Don't get me wrong the G is a nice ride.
It all comes down to what you can afford these days.

Nice post(s) elite, the article was a good read. I was seriously considering both cars as well as the 335i when I was shopping. I'm happy with my purchase, but after reading that I know I couldn't have been the only one having difficulty making the decision. Both are nice rides, but having already owned a couple of VQ cars it was time for something new.

It's so hard to get HP out of an NA motor than FI. I am a huge nissan fan owning a TT 300zx, 240sx Ka motor and a hardbody work truck, but basic bolt on's any N54 be it 135i or 335i will smoke a VQ35or37 easy with the same amount of money in bolt on's.
That being said this is good comparison if infinity manage to keep the weight down. A friend of mine has a G37s and it doesn't feel more roomier as the article suggest. My friends seem to suggest quite the opposite despite the plastic back on my 135i. I think that a 135i is more compatible to a 370z track wise, yet having 2 rear seats. A good coilover kit will negate this advantage though this is where pricing will play a point. 135>G37 and 135=370z stock for stock, and I would take a R34 Skyline GTR over the new GT-R. |

I drive a 2011 135i and also drive the family 03 g35 once in a while so i can chime in.
Build and driving experience, i may be bias, but it seems that the 135i is a lot better in terms of overall feel. The 135i def pulls harder than g35/g37. However, the steering of the g35/g37 seems a lot more responsive. The 135i as stated several times feels a lot smaller and llighter, more nimble. |

I drove the G37 and it was sluggish and did not feel fast at all... It was very loud at cruising speeds too... Not my thing...

Shifts in the 135i are soooo crisp and clean... I told the dealer at infinity not even close to the same car the 135i is soooo much better performance wise... As for interior options and reliability I cant even say the 1 is average.... The interior in the 1 is just blah... And dont even get me started on reliability.... cus when I think BMW and reliability this is what comes to mind=
