This little sweet thing will get you to 60 in low 5's and hit quarter mile in high 12's all day long. Now how can you not consider it. No enthusiast I know will overlook adding power and keeping the performance in check when reasonably priced and reliable. ESS what took you so long??

Here is a quick before and after dyno of a stock N52 to give you guys an idea of the power our kit will make. This testing is on premium 93 octane fuel. This is not a final production dyno and we are still doing some fine tuning but it will give you a good idea of the delta gains over stock.

Interesting to see the DISA bump smack in the middle there. Power curve looks excellent!

What are the power figures for DISA vs non?

Excellent power all across especially above 5k rpm. The power dips of the stock n52 appear similar to most 3 stage DISA dynos, probably explains the dip on the SS.

45% power, 22.5% torque increase with no other mods other than the S/C kit?
Will stage two/2+ be FMIC, exhaust and more boost? You've tested on 10PSI, we want to run it

Definitely getting this for my Z4 3.0si. I don't care much for the new e89s and the VANOS problems that come with the S54. This is perfect!!!

Permanently fixing the VANOS on the S54 is ~$300. This kit is a tad more than that.

True, I could just upgrade to an M but I've only seen 2 M roadsters in AW and red interior. One, the dealer wouldn't sell to me 'cause he was sending it to auction. The other, I came close to buying from a guy in NorCal but I had some home repairs pop up this spring.

Sub'd

Though impressive I really want to get to or exceed power to weight ratio of my M5. Many have asked why SC over turbo; well I'm one of those stuck in the mud NA guys that don't like the power curve or sound of turbos. Hence I bought a 128i and have one of the greatest NA engines stuffed in a four door

Will be waiting for this...,

I really hope to see this work. I'm not interested currently because college budget+daily driver don't allow for it. Eventually when my car is a beater/track car i will certainly be interested in these and i hope they are still available. Probably 2 or so years off from this point.

That being said, i can't wait to see how the first install's and testing goes for everyone. I really do hope anyone buying this makes a thread and keeps us informed with the install process(if possible tons of pictures!) and everything associated. Before and after dyno would be awesome as well. I don't distrust ESS, i just look forward to confirmation of their claims.

I'd also like to see how boost affects the longevity of the motor. I don't think it'll blow up in 10k miles but i wanna see if it can go to 100k, 200k, etc while being boosted for a large portion of it.. i put a lot of miles on my car and it would only get install at above 100k miles.

I would be surprised if this was suited for track use. FI adds a lot of heat everywhere.

it'll be a good question to answer as to how the stage 1 kit fares in that environment

it's only a ~$1000-$1200 exercise to add an oil cooler housing + oil cooler on our N52's though... and we have a larger radiator - the N54 equipped cars have a shorter rad due to the FMIC being deep rather than tall.

less heat than the N54 runs due to running richer/PI too. DI = lean running = more heat in the cylinder>oil... plus the turbos spin extremely fast, so there's more heat in that as well, compared to the blower going on these.

i'm already excited for the nuts that buy it, quickly add a custom FMIC, smaller pulley, tune for higher octane. i really want to see just how 'fragile' these motors are :P

also how strong the 128i transmissions are. the 130i and i believe the 330i ones are likely a little tougher... but then again, the N54 transmissions have proven to handle about double their 'factory rated' torque.

Yeah this concerns me as I track my car regularly and this kit doesn't seem to address additional cooling (e.g. with a FMIC) as far as I know. Would be keen to see some in-car/cluster acceleration vids...keep us updated Roman!
