Quote:
3-4 degrees of rear camber with 275 tires would almost certainly provide less traction than 255 with 1.5 degrees. |

yeah...suggested a customer purchase those on their '06 330i 225*45*17 and they LOVE the tires too. quiet w/ great road manners. in addition, very good dry and wet grip. and...the look of the tires...HOT!

Keep in mind that a 4' camber will reduce tire life by about 50%.

just to clear things up...I have NO intentions of running that much camber or a 275...I was merely stating that it isn't impossible to stuff one in there if you wanted to. On the other hand, If I rolled my fenders I could probably run a 275 without changing my camber now. I am very happy with how it handles right now so I have no intentions of changing it.

that's a good looking setup! if you wanted to figure out the offset, measure the actual width of the wheel from outside to inside lip. it's probably around 11" wide. then place a straight edge across the inside lip of the wheel, and measure from the mounting face of the wheel back to the straight edge. that's your backspacing. your offset is the amount by which the backspacing exceeds half of the width. offset = backspacing - (width / 2), then just convert from inches to mm.
please measure and post if you get a chance next time you take a rear wheel off... DPE makes great wheels, but they're super-lame for trying to hide their fitments. freedom of information! Last edited by fourtailpipes; 06-14-2009 at 10:19 AM.. |

I'll give it a shot next time the wheel is off! thanks for that info, I figured it wasn't too difficult but never bothered to figure it out.
