Either way though, the S4 was a much better car to drive than the 335 in pretty much every way.....but the 1-series was way more fun than the S4!

In the end, my decision came down to the S4 and the 135is. The only benefit of the S4 was AWD/quattro....but honestly i will suffer a bit for a few heavy snow days, to enjoy my large commute the rest of the year.
Nah, you'll be fine on snowy winter days/nights if you use dedicated winter tires. I ran Blizzak LM25 (runflats even) all winter long on Utah powder and ice--and surely much more than one would expect to drive on in Brooklyn. No extra weight needed (old school salt bags in the trunk).

My 135i ran better than awd/4wd/fwd runnnig all seasons. Of course, a quattro running dedicated winters would out perform us.

It's funny because someone down the street has a 335is and I occasionally walk past it and stare at the 19" 313 rims on it, which are a lot more concave than ours, and I don't think they look as nice bending/arching so far in like that.

Plus, it helps me feel better about my previous domestic automotive purchase, to quote a line from Dave.
FWIW, I loved the 264's on my 135i and I love the 313's on my 135is; Heck, I even loved the Sparco Assetto Gara as my winter wheels.

Ya, I loved the 264s on my 135, but was never really a fan of the 261s when they switched. So, initially I considered getting a 135 with m sport package and putting the 313s on it since I didn't really need the performance upgrades of the IS. But when you do the math, it makes no sense to pay almost $2k for the 313s and put them on there when the entire IS package is just a hair more than that. Glad I did, cause I'd have NEVER have put the PE on there on my own accord, but man, glad I have it now!

Really let her rip today on my way to work for once and man, scared the crap out of the pedestrians (my co-workers) crossing 500 feet away as they turned their heads, but I was turning before them anyways. Also found the PE tends to wake up bums sleeping in alleys, too. Gotta love downtown LA.

Now if only the birds would stop crapping on my car! I get all the birds who are either menstruating or just ate lasagna it seems.

i've been driving Audis for about 11 years on snow tires every year in Detroit, Chicago, and NYC winters.....i'm pretty sure the 135 won't be able to match those Audis in winter performance----but i've accepted that now! will be prepared with some kick ass snow tires and a little bit of extra caution!

I'll probably throw up a few this weekend and I'm doing a car control course later this month and I'll have tons of pictures and video from that, too.

Ride feels about the same. Taking the run flats off though probably didn't hurt.

What was the total drop front/rear that you see (real life) over the stock ride height?

Wheels look fantastic! Are they 19s or 20s? Edit: just looked at the Apex web site... they only offer 18s for the E82. I like the 313s that come with the car I ordered, but I LOVE the way yours look on the 1-series.

Good car to murder people in I guess. Conceals the evidence. hahaha.

Good thing it doesn't have the lower half of the dash red too, like on the new 4-series.

This is probably the first 135is I've seen that I wouldn't want to own!

The vermillion red with taupe interior I think was worse and the only one I wouldn't take. Taupe with the glacier aluminum was baaaaad. Guess that's why someone returned it and it was being sold as a CPO with 755 miles. Unless it was a demo.

Here, this one oughta make you feel better then.

While the Vermillion sure is different, I'm glad I didn't get it. Considered it for a few minutes, though!

Thanks... I needed that!!! The mineral gray looks so good in the sun! I will be driving past BMW of Asheville on my way back to Ohio after picking up my 135is from the PC in three weeks and three days (but who's counting? Oh... I am...)

Here's mine then today in the parking lot as I was leaving work. I couldn't help but laugh as a brand new Tesla Model S also parked at the very end of the parking lot and we were both about 8-10 cars from everybody else. Great minds...

The lease is up and I have to turn in my 2011 135i tomorrow. So I've changed my Avatar and starting tomorrow I'll be rollin' in the 2013 135is that's been collecting dust in the garage for the last couple of weeks.

By the way, there's a perfect 2011 Space Gray 135i MSport 6MT that'll be hitting the auctions soon if the dealer doesn't retail it themselves. I don't think they like to stock manual transmission cars.

I wasn't able to do a proper photo shoot of the two cars together since it has rained almost every day for the last 2 weeks.

But here's a camera phone shot of their last night together! Sorry for the poor quality.

How you feeling about it? Sad? Excited? Somewhere in between. I'm surprised you didn't turn in the old one early when you picked up the IS.

I tracked down my old 135 on autotrader (searching for VIN) a few weeks after turning it in and found it was out in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I happened to be going on vacation 15 miles from there so I went and visited it while on my trip.
