Take that with a grain of salt I think. Some of those US dynos read very high don't they?

Definitely the case. They do read alot higher in the US. I think if we deduct about 5-7% off that dyno result we would have the same as our Aussie dyno results.

US dynos (DynoJEt) read 15-20% higher than Dyno Dynamics, proven over and over again.

I was way off then.
So the 1M will most probably put down about 220-225rwkw on our dyno's.

When you tune the 1M it should give the exact same power output as the 135i - the 1M is just a much much better overall package in terms of dynamics, handling and looks (IMO).

Having read the post this morning, I read it as saying there was alot more HP and TQ than the 535i they tested... so it is more the relativity that they were on about than the big numbers they acheived with the 1M, am I right or ..........

Agreed and ROFL, she will probably want to do the track day in the 1 and me... "well bring your own car" will be the comment. Remember this is the lady that had a blast in the R26.R at the ring last month, meaning she had 3 laps and so did I.

Just done some maths....

the
1M 246Kw ATW
535i 202Kw ATW
Delta being + 40Kw to the 1M or ~+20% more rear wheel Kws

so if you have a 135i stock figure that % may be used to calculate a rough 1M ATW rating... anyway I am looking forward to stealing the keys, I just need to slink into the garage on a weekend and push it out of the garage (the driveway is down hill) and take it for some spins.

Sure as hell not looking for an argument here - I wouldn't know either way. But why would the same engine produce more hp in the US then here? Presumably it doesn't which begs the obvious next question: what are they testing that we aren't?

I think stock 135's put down about 190-195rwkw.
I'll give you a hand with that Alpine. You slowly push it out of the garage and I'll sit in the drivers seat and man the steering.

soooo the 202 ATWKw figure they got with a 535i in that post is pretty close to the mark then!! THEREFORE they may be pretty close with their 1M #s??

I am an amateur with this stuff so WTF do I know hahaha

Thanks for the offer to help JB, I'll let you know.

Stock for stock, 1M is obviously going to be higher power than an N54 powered 135i. That's only because 1M is running different software.

Since they have exactly the engine, if you eradicate the variable (i.e. chuck a PROcede on both of them) the power figures will turn out to be exactly the same. You can't 'tune' a 1M to higher power levels because it started higher stock. It was simply running a higher state of tune with the same hardware from stock.

That's was really just my point, not taking anything away from the beastness of the 1M

If the 1M is an N54 @ 13psi then I guess that puts me in front...until the first corner!

A nice set of wheels and tyres and KWs and it would be a good race. Dont forget you have a massive IC Matt so your car will be consistantly strong.
