N55 turbo engine need to wait before stop engine?

Hi, I am wondering if the N55 turbo inline 6 engine has a pump to circulate oil even after we stop engine? In other words, do I have to have the car stand by for 1 -2 mins before I stop my engine after my ride? Thanks!

I've been told once you lock the doors, an oil pump will circulate oil so there is no need to idle the motor. Just don't go WOT too soon before shutting it off.

It is always a good idea to let the turbo cool down after a long drive or just ragging on it.

Good response, thanks! The problem is, I don't think I ever heard the pump circulating after either long or short drive. So I am wondering if idling is required, and paying for > $40k for the car,I couldn't believe BMW doesn't have such technology present.

I've heard that they do have the pump. I've recently been just driving it with confidence in the pump. However, if I'm driving HARD in a canyon or something, I'll let it idle for a minute or so anyway just in case. For day to day driving, you should be ok though.

If you drive it hard, let it settle down for a minute before you shut it off. If you've been driving normally, then there is no need to wait. You should hear a weird electronic noise (kind of like a buzzing), and sometimes a drippy-type sound, that lets you know the oil is still circulating.
