Aftermarket Turbo(s)

Hi Guys,

It's been a while - but I'm considering either top/bottom mount turbo setup - I've been doing my research and I wanted to ask if anyone in Australia currently has an agressive turbo setup?

I've been looking at the kits available, and wanted to see what others in aus were doing, especially due to the super rb's not currently being made for RHD models due to fitment?

At this stage, the only upgraded turbos you can go for are the high flowed stock frame turbos, e.g. RB, VTT, Dinan, etc.

There are no completed kits out there that I know of which have been made to fit RHD cars. There has been talk of doing them, but that's mostly about it currently.

Has anyone investigated the fitment differences? for top or bottom mount? I've always wanted to learn how to fab my own manifold, maybe I'll make my own

The US kits for top or bottom mount will still present clearance issues.

Talk to Peter at Advan. There are a few of us that have been nagging him about a large single turbo solution.

The issue is clearance for the intake charge piping as well as the downpipe due to the steering rack. None of the LHD prefabricated kits will fit this, top or bottom mount.

A RHD single kit is doable, but it's going to involve fabrication to either get more clearance, or to move the turbo, intake charge piping and/or downpipes entirely to a different location within the engine bay.
