Especially on the highway! I managed 25/26 mpg with a 2010 N54 MT (only 2500 miles) on an Interstate trip. And the rpm hovered mostly on the high side of 3k. I think a 135i could achieve 28 mpg if driven really conservatively, but that ain't going to happen with 99.9% of 135i drivers. lol

Garage List
2019 BMW M2C  [0.00]
7th gear 60mph is just under 2k RPM with the DCT. Can't really go past 60 in most sections of highway here (speed limits around 50-55 mostly.) What really impresses me is the car's ability to accelerate effortlessly in 7th gear from 60-80 without being hard on the throttle.

I was impressed with the new EPA numbers for the 2011 528i (21/32).
I think the EPA website is wrong. The BMW AG wedsite lists the combined FE the same for the DCT and the 6-speed (DCT has a better urban rating while slightly worse extra-urban).

N55 1400 mile trip=29.7 mpg with 6sp-driving 70-75 mph.

Maybe they drove the DCT in "sport" mode the whole time?

20/28 is really sweet. I would buy another 1 if it is true. Fuel tank of 1 is really small so economy is a key. I do not see big difference DCT or MT, so EPA numbers should be the same. I am not sure if MY11 arrived in dealerships, and if it's so, I will try to take a picture of sticker for both transmissions. Going to a dealer to drive new 5 series next week, so should have a chance seeing new 1.

Agree. And the BMWUSA sight is wrong all over the place. I thinks they cut the IT department or they are all driving DCTs in bong mode. It's a phenomina or not well understood disease.

More like "bong" mode?

I'm getting between 28 and 31 mpg. D mode at 70mph gets me 31, no passing granny mode. Down to 28 when driving hard. Keep in mind I'm still breaking it in. I suspect my mpg will get better and be better than most. It looks like gas quality matters also.

Sent BMWUSA an email about EPA #s, but no repsonse yet.

Anyone have any official numbers on DCT gas mileage? The 18|25 doesnt seem accurate....seems low.
