Anyone know the Correct Specs on this?

Getting ready to sign some papers. Just curious and am not able to find any real definition on the REAL component difference between stock suspension and the Sport Suspension. Is it a different shock set up?? Springs? or is it just a tighter bushing set up? Does anyone know what the REAL difference is?
Expense is not an issue, but ride quality will be on this purchase. Have a fiiiiiiiiine Z4si with the works, and am happy with it but it is not as comfortable of course on rougher streets. The 1'er will be a daily driver, small trips etc. Thanks for ANY help on this one. Bests all...

In 2009 the 135i sport suspension had 11% stiffer springs than 128i stock suspension and a stiffer rear swaybar. There are probably other differences, but that's all I know about it. HTH

Which model are you buying? 128i or 135i ???

All the 135i's have the same suspension regardless of M-pak option or not.

128i's have two suspensions.

the 128i with sport/M-sport package just gets the 135i suspension, doesn't it?

I don't know.

What ever suspension one has... you can always order the BMW Perf suspesion and take it one more step further - sport wise. And for the 128i the Perf suspension comes with roll bars too. 135i PS does not.

An M-Sport 128i and a 135i have the same front sway bar, front struts, rear shocks, and rear sway bar. The parts manuals don't show the spring part numbers, but I suspect they are the same too.

There is no difference in suspension between a 128i with Sport Package and a 128i with M-Sport Package. Just clarifying.

The non-sport versions don't have a rear sway at all, and I think they have a thinner front sway. Springs and dampers are stiffer on sport versions and ride height is lower (10mm, I think).

The parts manual doesn't list a Sport suspension for the 128i, just an M-Sport suspension.

Nevertheless, my 128i w/ Sport Package does indeed have a suspension.

Great feedback--thank you. Its the 128 without Sport I am interested in now; I intend think to beef up up the stock for better tires and better bars--better in front, and add one in rear to reduce roll.

Found out today from a "reliable source" that the shock valves are heavier, thus more damping, beefier front bar, which makes sense, [not sure how close it is to Msport or the 135, and stiffer spring rate as well. All in all, fine for handling--as my Z4si has-- but on OUR streets, well, the ride will be comprimised a bit more than I think I want. The stronger bar mm rate should reduce as above, the roll. You "alls" input has been very helpful. Faster street speeds are not on the agenda. A little better handling is.

I noted an excellent article in the July ROUNDEL by Mike Miller on the 128--very nicely done. The one he drove [and he is picky in the best of ways] had the Sport Suspension, and he does not mention ride characteristics..but the article is well worth a good read for all the 128'ers/
