Another 135 owner
Came back to the mother ship. Got rid of the Mini (short owership-shortest of any car since adulthood-18 months!) and picked up a 135 today. SB, PP, SP, coral red, heated seats, step (I know, but this a pretty good automatic), Ipod, sat radio. Nirvana!

Welcome. Another MINI guy--4 1/2 yrs with my MCS. If I had a 3 car garage I would keep him. I have a 135/manual sitting at the dock on the bay. Why so short with the MINI? Nick

The Mini was a lark. I had a E46 coupe (my 2000) that I loved dearly for 7+ years, but got an itch for something "different" (and had a brief spell of being environmentally conscious, therefore good mileage, etc). Sold the E46 (the buyer got the best kept E46 on the planet) and ordered the Mini S (loaded-pp/cwp/sp/yada, yada) and never felt good about it (you know, the feeling that makes you go into the garage in the evening and just sit in the car...). Too much torque steer, too many idiosyncrasies with the interior design and the like. I did love the quickness and small size. I was planning on keeping it for a few more months and doing a ED, but I was out looking one day with my wife (who has really become a car nut of sorts) and was set to get a Boxster (killer year-end deal 43k for a mrsp of 53k-41miles), but it didn't feel quite right. We went to the BMW dealer after telling the Porsche guy we would get a cup of coffee and consider the deal and my wife went up to a SA and said "we (he)want a 1". She said they had a couple (128, 128vert) oh, and we have this SM 135 that we have had for quite a while but haven't sold...(here in the midwest small coupes don't sell well. Everyone has to have a pick up or SUV). Long story short-I now have the 135 and yes, I sneak into the garage and sit in it (only had it 2 days)...
