Price?? Need opinions...

Just got a quote for a 330xi with the following:
- Arctic Metallic paint
- Manual Trans
- Comfort Access
- Navigation
- Satellite Radio
- Cold Weather Pkg
- Premium Pkg
They quoted me: $43,130.00
What does everyone think??? Good, bad or ugly? Seems good...

Check Edmunds ---- you have a decent deal . Given the feartures on the car they will have to build it Or is it in stock?

It'll have to be built... I'm just looking around as I'd have to sell the 325xi I've got now... yeah.. a little crazy I know. I figure if I get a good enough deal I'll take the $1-2k hit on my 325xi.

Therefore it is an excellent deal for a CUSTOM ordered car.

If the deal hinges on offing your previous car ........ then why are we having this conversation?

Well... the "deal" really hinges on how good of a deal I get. If they give me a decent amount for the trade of my current bimmer than all the better.

But if it's an excellent deal than I'd be willing to order the car and put mine on the private market - hopefully selling it before the 330xi arrives 2 months down the road. Soooo... just asking around, many other dealerships offered 1 to 2 thousand above this offer.

I wouldn't bet on a bigger discount on a special order car....Why don't you get somthing in stock AND THEN ask for a bigger discount? I know what you'll say...I want what I want...cool me to...I special ordered mine. But if you "want what you want"...most times you have pay for it...agreed? BTW if you order your car you should do a Performance Delivery!

True... we'll see what they say tomorrow about the trade and I may just go ahead and put the order in for the 330xi.

Didn't you just get that?

Why are you selling it so soon?

I think you are going to take more than a thousand or two hit.

Probably more like 5 to 7.

Well thats why I'm just looking at possibilities. The reason for the trade up is the manual tranny and the extra HP of the 330. Also considering doing Euro Delivery and taking a vacation at the same time. Nothing critical, like I said I love the 325xi but if for some strange turn of events I'm able to only lose a $1-2k than I'll jump on it.

Being an 2006 the 325 doesn't have a KBB value yet so I've nothing to base what I could sell it for private party - other than maybe a few thousand less than what I paid for it. I'm out of town so I've been doing all the inquires to the dealers via email. Once I get back I can take a harder look at what they'll give me for the 325 and what people are paying for used, low mileage 325xi's.

No... still waiting on a reply from the dealer offering the 330xi to me for $43k. One dealership was going to give me $32k for my 325xi. I found the trade value for a similarly equipped 2005 325xi is $32k... needless to say I didn't even bother replying to those idiots. Still waiting on the other guys though.

Don't look at the price as a whole... only bargain against invoice- you get a much better price and you know what you are dealing with. I went for 1k over invoice just to avoid hassling, and some members here and at bimmerfest claim to go a bit lower (and, a work colleague claims to have gotten 500 over invoice). It appears from an earlier post your quite is much higher than 1k over- don't go for it. I don't see why it should matter if the car is custom-ordered or not, unless it is closer to the end of the model year and they want to clear out the inventory. If anything, 330xi's are rare to come by and it shouldn't cost much to a dealer to special order (as the car comes and goes the same day), so, i would speculate that getting one off the lot would cost more than waiting for a customized one.
I would definately make the trade-in part of the overall deal, but, I would only work on that part after determining what I am willing to pay above invoice.

CHECK THIS OUT!

Okay.. finally got an decent offer back (I think): $44,700.00 out the door (tax, title and reg). How does that strike everyone? I'm ready to do it but have to think about it overnight. At this price I'm getting:

330xi
Arctic Metallic/ Black Leather/ Walnut trim
Navigation
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Comfort Access
Satellite Radio Prep
Manual Transmission
