Any pics of a 215/40/18 on a 8.5 rim

Like the title states any pictures?

Not looking to change rubber yet but planing on a 8.5inch rim in the front for when I do need new tires. However, I have the stock tires right now and rather wear those out. Tire rack states that the range for the stockers is 7 to 8.5 inch. Just wondering if banking on the max value is okay.

I really hope it does not look like this. http://www.tyrestretch.com/8.5_215_35_R18/ looking for pics with a 40 profile hopefuly that will save the look

damn I found a pic http://www.tyrestretch.com/8.5_215_4...en_512.jpg.php
please say the stockers run a bit wider then most brands

Do you think that is a good fitment? I think you already know the answer so here is your confirmation. I personally would not do it. Just get a new wheel/tire package and sell the stock tires. That is what I am doing. Those pix you posted are ugly.

Good luck in what ever you decide.

That's ok, I some times need a smack as well. Thanks for showing those pix. Interesting site. What wheels are you looking at and now what tires?

you want at least 235-245 minimum on an 8.5 rim. 245 is the best looking, but you prob can't fit more that 235 without rolling.

Also no more than 255 on 8.5

thanks tgxmike and Cisitalia.

I just piicked up the car a week ago just trying to make my dollar stretch (no pun intended)
I was looking at the forgestars f14.
I think I may may need to decline the purchase of the wheels and wait for a acceptable cushion in the bank roll to afford proper tires with rims at the same time.

If you are going to use your 1er as a daily driver I suggest new summer wheel and tire set and put some winters on the Stock wheels.

The Forgestars are custom wheels so they will take some time to make! Call me up when you get the chance so I can fill you in!

okay so 1er specific.
What tires do I run with a 8.5 front and a 9 rear. 46offset front and 50 rear?
I'm thinking 225/40/18 front (still thin as shit but I don't know how far I can push, my old fwd had fatter tires in the front) M-sport suspension and no intention to lower and do not want to roll fenders.

nothing drastic in the rear 245/35/18 is a 255 asking to much of the rear with no fender work on m-sport suspension?. I forget tho as profile goes up or down in which instance does the tire get narrower?

http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.j...&text1=&text2=

clearance for a 235 looks acceptable... can someone second that for me?
