vert roof wont open with keys outside car

have found 135i vert wont always open or close roof when standing outside car with buttons on key, which was supposed to be a function. It did work on day bought car, but not now on consisent fashion. Only consisent if use internal button to open and close roof
any ideas or anyone have similar issues. (i have 135i vert with comfort access, sat nav prof, hifi prof, adaptive lights)

Also wondering if back seats head rest has to be set down everytime wwant to open or close roof (as can alter it vertically)?

still wondering on getting car tinted. not sure after reading a few guys on forum finding having issues post tint with sensors not working.

Malvern, I also had this issue on the onset of delivery..

Then I realised that you had to close/open in a set sequence..
Say in order to open the roof whilst outside the car.
The car has to be locked first then hit the open key and hold down the button..Also I found that you cant be further than 5 meters away from the car.

Closing the roof, never had a problem.. Just hold down the close key..

Just make sure that you are not too far away from the car and that the internal boot roof cover is always open.
Hope this helps.

If i have opened and closed mine without the car being on a few times in a day the key open/close function seems to struggle. Even got stuck half way the other day out the front of a Cloes. hehe

I just figured that opening and closing must draw heaps of power from the battery and thats why it is sometimes has a hard time opening/closing via the key.

I usually try to open and close while the car is running and only use the keyless feature occasionally. Seems to work good if i stick to this plan
