Who has the Sprintbooster installed...is it worth it?

I've driven a car with it on, and now mine again with it off. To be honest, I'd rather stick with mine with the SprintBooster not installed.

I'd imagine it would void the warranty if it could be proven the SprintBooster caused the fault.

Going slightly OT, when you mentioned the M-sport button you reminded me of when I was being driven around Calgary early last year in my friends M6.

He referred to the M-button as the "Slut-mistress button" for it's ability to be nasty in an incredibly sexy manner. Great analogy I thought

I never really understood this question whenever it crops up. Think about it- if you do something to your car that changes it from how BMW intended the car to operate, how could you reasonably expect them to cover your tinkering if it results in something failing?

This is the reason why as much as I'd love to remap my ECU a bit, I won't until the 3 year warranty I have expires as I don't want to have to foot the bill if something goes spang.

If you take it too extreme then you should get BMW to wash your car since it may not the way that BMW intend to get it washed

Relax. The way it works should be very flexible. The manufacturer has to prove that your parts has some how contribute the faulty part for repair. So if throttle is changed by the sprint booster, only the throttle part may be at risk. The engine, brakes, clutch etc will be ok.

Same goes with the exhaust. If it is fully functioning and working, manufacturer cannot blame it for engine fault, unless it is completely blocked.

Tuning you are right though. Coz you will increase boost and this will void the engine warranty, but not the other parts (even brakes or clutch).

That is why when I had water got into the headlight and f'ed the xenon... I remove the angle eye bulb and put the OEM one in before going to BMW.
