OEM Carbon Trim Install
Hi,
I bought the above some time ago for my 135I and after some research not confident in self installing at least the dash parts. Can anybody recommend somebody in Adelaide to install? I am too scared to ask our only BMW Dealer but has anybody had a dealer fit it & approximate cost? Thanks Andy |

Removing the trim is more difficult than installing, so there is minimal chance of damaging your new trim as basically you just pop the new trim in.
Buy a trim removal kit tool off ebay for $5, than find a DIY guide on this forum and spend a few hrs in your spare time taking it apart and reinstalling the new trim. |

I'm pretty certain on the E82 to change the centre console trim it means taking the entire centre console out. On the E9X it literally takes seconds to pop it off.
If you're not confident in stripping the interior I would personally take it to a trimmer. |

Find the trim removal guide in the DIY section. Pretty straight forward. Took me about an hour or so to replace my trim.

The iDrive console just pops out. It has a wire harness attached obviously. You can follow the diy guide without pictures. Just takes a little longer. I found some force necessary to remove console over handbrake lever. Got to be forced back on as well..
You should replace the ashtray as well if you are doing trim upgrade. The door pull trims just clip off. Recollection is start at the bottom and work up. The dash trim is just clips. Easy to remove.I never broke any. |
