Cool! Does your intake rub or is it very close to the metal heat shield? Mine doesn't rub but is very close. I tried to change it but couldn't

I never thought I had heat soak per say. In the summer, the intake just seemed like normal intake and slow. All cars feel slower in 100+ texas heat. However, right now, it is just a BLAST to drive my car. The intake + exhaust feel wonderful and the car just feels so alive. THe colder weather makes the exhaust sound louder, and the intake seems to be breathing much better. I have seen my MPG go up by 2 mpg even though I am driving more aggressive. I use to get 21 and now I am getting 23!

nope, never had one and I've had mine on for about 1.5 years now . The only reason I could see a check engine light come on is if you don't install it correctly and it doesn't seal all the way.

Didn't see this earlier, but yeah filter base sits on the heat shield and always has, couldn't avoid it any way with modifications. It hasn't caused any issues what so ever, i was really concerned about it and would check it all the time, but its never come loose or done anything weird, so i've left it alone.

looks good dude.....i'm going back and forth on the injen & afe. injen looks good for half the price, but i like how the afe is a closed airbox tied to the front scoops, it's true cold air. i'm thinking the injen setup is going to be sucking some hot air from the engine bay. install looks clean though!!
