We can start by squeezing a 420HP V8 under the hood of a 1er.

What's funny is that I read that a lot. What's to say that M3 owners are not doing their own mods? Once they do, the 1 won't come close. Also, with equal drivers, the M3 will outperform our cars on the track.

I'd give up my 1er for a M3 in a heartbeat as well. However, I am not rich by any means, and the 1er is a slight stretch to begin with. Oh well, my JB3 1er will have to suffice. Congrats on the M3!!!

you can more easily milk power out of a turbo motor than a NA motor so that's probably what people are talking about.

So then the obvious answer to this delema for M3 owners is to cut her up inside an add in a pair of turbos.

Or buy an E46 M3...

My eife could have had the M3 Vert or the 135 Vert, it was he choice to take the 135. I tried to "steer" her to the M3, but the 135 won out. She said it looks more like a real Convertible, and is ...and this will hurt some of you, because the 135 is CUTE.

You win with either vehicle.

If you gave me truth serum, I would tell you that although I love my 135i...really love it, I would not have bought it if I could have gotten a M3 sedan with the current deals that are out there. My problem is that I really wanted the DCT and there are not many out there. If I could find a buyer for my 135i today and sold it for as close to $40k as possible, I would probably make the leap today. The only option I don't have is satellite radio, active steering, and auto tranny. I do love the car, so I may just go for the suspension, wheels, and some CF bits. I just haven't pulled the trigger because I'm concerned about having a $60k 135i. See, I'm talking myself back into the m3 once again!!!
