reset 1 series key fob

hi all can any one help me i got 55 reg 118d ,my key fob was working fine but now my key fob will open the car but will not lock it ,so got one off ebay just want to know how to fix my key fob if not how to reset the new one to work on my car

You can only order key fobs through your dealer, with proof of identity and vehicle ownership. Take the fob to your dealer to see if the new one can be programmed for your VIN, otherwise you have just bought yourself a paperweight.
