The Wait..... is NOT OVER!!!

Ahhh... there's a day delay of the ship arriving to Brisbane... so it's now going to be 6/6/09 and it's not going to be the 5th. The only thing is that it was going to be undocked on the 5th, and therefore it might have been up the coast on the Saturday. The 6th is a Saturday, and so really the earliest it will be up the coast would be Monday/Tuesday - and if what happened with Taka happens to me!!!!!!!! I would be doing this and not have the car for the meet on the 14th!

Someone tell me how come it takes 4 days to sail from Auckland to Brisbane!!!!

The 125i is arriving 1 day early though... but it will take a lot of convincing to borrow my wife's car - especially she knows I am going to be doing some spirited driving in her car, and the fact that she hates driving the 318i

And guess what, with everything else that's going on, this is what I got from them today:

Taking a look at these cars, this is the situation now.

135I docking date is now 12/06 with a delivery eta to us here on 03/07

125I docking date is now 05/06 with a delivery eta to us here on 17/06 "

May be Taka's case is not isolated... I am going to check out the website to see if they are not telling the truth again...

Sorry to hear that. Tell you what you will forget about it once you start driving it.

It does take 3 weeks for mine. It is all about booking transport and shit that takes time.

For consolation, my compliance plate says 04/09, even the build date is Feb 09

Okay, the 125i arrived in Brisbane on the 1/6/09 and finally got delivered on 5/6/09 - so hopefully, I will see that sooner than later.

The 135i has been discharged today - so I guess it won't get delivered till Friday...

How come it takes so long before it get "delivered"?

I wonder where they keep they keep the cars, and how long before they get them up to the Sunny Coast... may be I should get someone to deliver it there.......!!!

There is a lot of paper and sticker and wrapping in the car. Even the wiper blade has to be changed before giving the car to you.

You seen the car yet?

You guys seem to know what the various "terms" mean, and how long they should take.

My car (the boat) arrives in Pt Kembla today. The most recent status on the WW site is "Liner Release" on 2/6/09. If I understand correctly, the next status is "Discharged" and then "Delivered From".

Can you tell me what these 2 terms mean, how long it should take for each, and what happens after "Delivered From".

Cheers and thanks.

Not sure, that will all mean the action happening in the ship though.

The longest delay for me was in the Laverton Prix Car... there is the same Prix car company at your end. They do pre delivery check and do the status of all clear (no damage) first and record all VIN number and put the compliance plate on. For my case my compliance plate listed 04/09 (the month it is in Melbourne not in Germany being built). So I guess yours bfi will say 06/09.

My car also took a week from Prix car to BMW Melbourne because someone made an error. Lucky I have insiders to retify that and get the car to BMW Melbourne in 48 hours.

Thanks Taka, I've been very relaxed about the arrival, until a few days ago when I saw the ship was in Brisbane. Now I'm all twitchy and impatient.

Can not wait to get my hand on the car.

Okay, for the 125i, it was liner release on 1/6/09, discharged, 1/6/09, delivered 5/6/09. Today, I have got a call from the dealership and says the car is in Brisbane. It won't be "released" until they tell them to. Once it's released, then it gets cleaned in Brisbane, before it's sent to the sunshine coast for "delivery".

So, it looks like liner release = when it reach the port. Discharged = when the car got off the boat, and delivered, when the car's delivered to I guess BMW (Aust) in Brisbane.

Then the dealer can have the car release, and it actually gets cleaned, and then deliver to them, and then they can "deliver" the car.

The 135i has been discharged on 8/6/09, so I am predicting it won't be delivered by the shipping company till Friday. It is sort of making sense to me now.

The bottom line is the dealership predicts of getting the car Thursday, and have it delivered to me on Saturday!!

So, hopefully, I can make it .

lol I was pretty much the same!

Anyway, the interesting thing is my dealer uses prixcar to get most of the work done for them...

When cars are unloaded off the boat they go to Prixcar where the wax and packaging is removed. I believe it is also there that the cars are inspected by customs etc and compliance plates are attached. The cars are then trucked to the dealer where dealer fitted options are fitted and fluids are checked. It's then that you are given the call to come and get it.

No doubt the dealer incurs costs regarding prepping the car for delivery and so they charge a delivery fee. Fair enough I suppose - no one works for nothing and they have their overheads to cover as well as generate a profit.

I spoke with WW this morning, and the story is, when the status on the WW website shows "Discharged", the car is off the ship, in a WW holding shed.

It should move from "Discharged" to Delivered From" within 2-3 days, depending on the volume of work they have. (Apparently it can take up to a week at busy times). "Delivered From" means that the car has been picked up from WW Shipping by another WW company that does the prep work. Apparently WW has a contract with BMW to do this. Perhaps the WW company that does this is called Prixcars - that's a guess.

After the car is out of the hands of the shipping company - ie. is showing "Delivered From" status, WW shipping no longer track it, and therefore the website won't show anything further.

I hope that helps.

Delivery for 135i is booked for Saturday am ...

No sign of the 125i yet still... apparently it is still yet to have its 2nd inspection for compliance - it is confusing everyone at the dealership too...

Grrrrrrrrrr

I just had a call from my dealer advising that my car won't be available mid to late this week as expeted. It'll be mid next week at least. Apparently, they're busy in customs, and have a backlog.

At least the dealer is giving me a car until it arrives.

This wait is killing me.

I hope the delay is really because of customs, and not because the car was damaged. Anyone know if there's a way to check on that?
