anyone as a cf hood on his 1er from VIS Racing.
If you have one on your car.
did you do the install yourself or not. If yes, was it easy as 1,2 3, And did you add the catch latch on both sides. thanks for the info's hyper1 Last edited by hyper1; 12-24-2011 at 03:46 PM.. Reason: new title |

cf hood
positive comments.
looks great and fit very well. in less than 1/2 hr it was installed (then i did the hardware) another 20 minutes and a few beers..... Only one negative comment. The gap between the hood and the fender is a bit large. However i did stop at a body shop, because i will paint some area of the hood white. The guy at the body shop was impress by the fit.....according to him, he has seen a lot and they don’t usually look that good or fit that well. He made a suggestion to narrow the gap between the hood and fender. Which i will probably do. I will add also the Aerocatch in a few weeks. all the best to all of you for 2012. cf hood final installation.
I hope this will clarify a few details.
sory about my reflection in the hood and windsheild....... The body shopp will add some material on the edge of the hood. Then both sides will be painted white exposing the 2 vents only and the middle section. hyper1 Last edited by hyper1; 04-20-2013 at 09:12 PM.. |

The sides IMO have too big of a gap. I was picturing the front having this problem as well, but in your case it looks like a decently fitted aftermarket hood.
I love this style btw.

cf hood
I bought it from a 1addicts member.
was new and never been install on his car. was a $1000.00 plus shipping in Canada plus tax (about $1500.00) total From VIS Racing I think the hood is about $1500.00 or a bit more. For me it was great deal. Last edited by hyper1; 01-02-2012 at 12:01 AM.. |

Damn, that gap is terrible!!! If your cool with it, that's all that matters, but crap!! I would be worried squirrels would find their way in there and nest. LOL I kid....

1 + 2 photo makes it look a lot worse than photo 3. How in the hell do you close the gap on the sides? It is not like the hood is laffy taffy or something
But damn. That hood does look good!
