I would not read and accept which figures some magazines are publishing.
They did not drive the car , They were in the passenger seat. Questions asked where swatted away and journalists were left to make up their own impression.

From what I have heard is that the car is officially locked in and ready for the final sign off , there will be more 1M updates through BMW-TV and M-Power.Com over the next few months in the run up to the commercial launch in December. With the New 6 in November and the 1M Coupe in December.

You cannot say we treat you badly.

Thanks.

So if the car is officially locked-in it means, the car is as it is: finished.

-CF roof
-1500 kg (EU)
-3.0l I6 S55
-365 HP @ 7.200 rpm (corrected)
-460 NM @ 3.000-7.000 rpm
-6MT, orptional 7DCT
-M LSD
-18" M rims
-6 piston brake calipers (front)
-0-100 km/h in 4.6/4.4 sec (6MT/7DCT)
-V-max 280 (M drivers package)
-looks cool

I just hope you are right. I would be very happy with these numbers!

Me too

Some sort of reality check based on engine physics let me believe that the max. torque will not last up to 7.000 rpm if peak power is at 7.000 rpm.

~365 HP and ~460 Nm is quite exact, but how it will be delivered is unknown to us.

I'll correct.

forget about any power from 6000 to whatever that theoretical 7200 rpm.

I bet that peak power is significantly above the 5.800 rpm of the N55 twin-scroll turbo currently used in the 135i.

Let's come back to this when the final specs are known. ^^

My guess is it would be very close to that -

Only way i buy is if those are the specs. Otherwise, there are better options. But the torque holding that high to 7k rpm is unrealistic. Maybe to low 6's

seems reasonable, just moving it up 1000rpms, isnt the n54 something like 1800-6000?

if they are trying to keep the entry point low, I dont see the CF roof being standard at least

100% agree about your torque statement (see my previous post)

max. torque of 460 Nm between 2k and 6k would be more realistic.

It's a very special auto stabilised high speed camera mounted to a bike, for, I guess, some groovy smokey all-out-drift-through-the-corners shots.

The bike, perhaps rather disappointingly, is a Kawasaki Ninja.

This should also mean whatever prototype we find being hotweather tested in NE, should have it's final production bodywork, as it is being filmed as well.......

two quick points
1) im sure BMW has no choice on the vehicle used to film their cars, they likely hire a firm that has their own gear.
2) more importantly, they are using a BIKE to film a car. That will mean some awesome action shots!
