Pilot bearing question - Manual Swap

Hi all,

I'm about 2/5ths through my swap and I'm looking for info on the pilot bearing situation. All the DIY's seem to just walk right pass or straight up ignore this part.

I assume the auto crank won't have a pilot bearing in it, right? If so, is it as easy as just popping the new one in?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

thx,

assuming you're getting a gs6-17bg trans, the pilot bearing is located inside the flywheel, so if you're getting a new flywheel, it should come with one already installed.

I actually thought I saw it in there but wasn't sure. I went with the smfw kit from Valeo.

Kind of annoyed that I ended up ordering one. Lots of unopened and unreturnable parts sitting on my table... All good tho. Thank you for confirming this.
