The waiting begins
Howdy,
Long time watcher first time poster. Placed my order on Wednesday for the 135i with the following options. Black on Black Cold Weather Premium Sports Comfort Parking Nav Sat Ipod Got what I consider a great deal knowing the demand for these cars, a little more than $1000 off MSRP. My dealer gave me a production #394xxxx and it is showing on order with no production date yet, so judging by other prod numbers that people are listing it may be awhile before I see the car. The dealer thought I should see the car in late April early May, but that was before he got a production number. He originally thought that I would have to go on a list, but he lucked out and was able to put the order in. What do you think, any chance of seeing this car before May? Waiting is so hard!! Cheers |

394 number huh, seems kinda late, but then again we really have no idea how production numbers are assigned. Were you first allocation form your dealer? |

It could be possible to have the car late April, IMO. I don't think production numbers have proven to be sequential as far as actual build runs.

I hope it is April. It is like being a kid waiting for Christmas to come. I guess I will have a better idea when my status gets updated and I can see a production date assigned to the order.

I think allocation is related to how many cars the dealer is going to get over the year, which is a limited number . That is to say, I think they get there cars in waves, 1st allocation in March, second in April - May, third June - July, etc. I could be wrong.

I am #9 on the list. The saleman told me this week they should have more info and will also start calling the people ahead of me on the list. Typically, people tend to drop off the list when asked for a deposit or change their minds for whatever reason. I would then move up and could get the car much earlier then what I would otherwise. |
