Must be the first thread in which someone is buying an FMIC based on how it looks.

Do yourself a favor and look into the "Big Tom" intercooler. It refers to either the KL Racing intercooler from Sweden or the CX Racing intercooler. If you do your research, people think they're solid and have IATs to back up their opinion. I ordered the KL Racing from Sweden and paid the ridiculous shipping, but if I could do it over I'd get the CX Racing version because I would have saved even more money. The only difference between the two is .5" less thickness on the CX Racing. Also the CX racing has 2.5" input and output which matches up with our car... I am going to have to use 3" to 2.5" reducers on the KL Racing.

Or you could just purchase a bolt on solution that also has proven results from a supporting vendor on the forums. We'll even ship it for free

anybody using the cp-e FMIC?
I have one on the way to me. I'll be using it along with the Stett stage 2 oil cooler vs. the cp-e oil cooler.
any comments are welcome

I also agree that VRSF is the bomb and they don't get caught up in overpricing their stuff either. I have their downpipes. No issues but I know if I needed anything they'd have my back. I would have went to them if I wanted something bolt in!

Based on the fact that 1) they are all incredibly close in performance and all much better than the stock POS 2) the car will end up seeing a water meth kit in the very near future as well.

So what if I want my car to have a certain Look? I mean.. guys spend hours and piles of cash to 'stance' their cars..

Nothing wrong with modifying your car as you see fit. But the first part of the statement is incorrect. You're adding meth so it wont be as big of a deal, but there is still flow to consider. I'm not being a jackass, that's the truth though.

Personally I always thought the HPF 7" with stencil looked the meanest.

When you start looking at the 7" cores pressure drop and throttle response can be more of an trade off than the extra 2" of cooling are worth. The design of the 1's front end makes large frontal area ICs difficult to install but a setup like Cobb's or Helix's stepped core is the happy medium

I have the VRSF 7" and looks pretty aggressive. Can't beat the price also. Thanks Tiago

Hope the responses after mine made an impression. All FMIC are not the same & there is a pretty wide variance in performance. Generally as the price goes up the quality of the core goes up.

If you want one for looks that’s your business but the questions on FMIC usually follow a pattern. Which is the most effective? How much does it cost? Can I get it in without cutting my car up? How hard is it to install DIY?. What hardware comes with it? Well the best is too expensive what would be the next recommendation & so on.
