Front had to be non-m style as the mounting is slightly different due to the assembly of the wheel hubs between M and Non-M. |

Wait... Which factory? Are those Ohlins orderable as BMW parts???
Sorry if I seem dense here, just trying to work out what this little piece of awesomeness is that you're putting together. You'd be doing saintly duties if you put up part numbers of all this stuff. |

This post lists all the BMW OEM part #'s I have spread out on the floor in the picture:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=851540 In summary, from Stu @ BMR: E92 M3 Front and Rear Sway bar kits E92 M3 Front Control arm kit (aka Wishbones and tension arms) E92 M3 Rear Upper Control arms (aka Wishbones and guide arms) E92 M3 Rear subframe bushings From HP Autoworks: M3 E92 Strut brace - Modified for E82 chassis (not pictured above) http://www.hpashop.com/BMW-128i-135i...tbrace-e82.htm M3 Rear Lower camber link kit (this changes the shock mount so you need M3 style dampers in the rear) http://www.hpashop.com/BMW-128i-135i...tbrace-e82.htm (I'd suggest picking up adjustable rear toe arms if you do the rear camber link conversion. It's not necessary to do so, but it will make setting your rear toe much easier. The M3 rear toe arm is the only 1M/M3 suspension component you can't swap over as the mounting point on the rear subframe is a bit different to the Non-M subframe.) The coils listed above are: - Front - 135i Ohlins Road & Track - 7" Swift Spring 60N/mm Rate w/ Swift thrust sheets & Vorshalg Camber plates - Rear - 1M/M3 Ohlins Road and Track - 9" Swift Springs 120N/mm rate w/ Swift thrust sheets. Any rear M3 style rear shock mount and standard 135i/335i front will work just fine if you decide to do the rear camber link swap. It's just hard to find kits that sell shocks outside of a set of 4. From memory you can choose: Motons, Koni Yellows, BC, AST, Ohlins and KW (I think there's a kit available but I was never able to find it) If i had to recommend anything, don't bother with the rear lower camber link kit and just pickup any 135/335 suspension kit your heart desires. Just re-learning the car the past few days...completely different beast. I'll post up a few pics in the suspension forums in the coming week.
Here's a closer pic of the cover. Really loving the looks of it. Last edited by PeteA; 12-20-2013 at 02:17 AM.. |
