How much is everyone paying for car insurance on 135i?
It seems to me that insurance rates on the 135i are unusually high relative to the value and performance of the car. Last year I bought an EVO X and paid a lot less to insure it than I'm paying now to insure my 135i. I'm 37 years old without any points on my driving record, no accidents or claims and I get a discount for having a graduate degree and I'm still paying $1,700 per year. To be fair, I have 500k in liability coverage, a low $250 deductible for collision, and I live in DC, but still...
I know that it would be difficult to compare apples to apples given all of the variables that go into calculating insurance rates, but I'd like to hear what everyone else is paying and which insurance company is giving the best rates on this car. I'm using Liberty Mutual, which was very competitive when I started using them, but I had a Honda Accord the last time I shopped for a new insurance carrier. I also called a State Farm agent recently and the quote that I was given for the 135i was comparable to what I'm paying now. |

I am paying $1600 per year in Atlanta with similar coverage like yours. I guess insurance rate varies significantly between locations. I am you are OK.

$96/mo. with State Farm; 25 year old male with a good record (1 speeding ticket on my motorcycle), and good student discount.
Been with State Farm since I was 16, my parents, even longer. |

$32 until March : ) It's put away for the winter, so everything but comprehensive is suspended.
Otherwise I'm at $241 for a 6mo. term, $1000 deductible through AllState. (Are you really going to file a claim for something less than a grand?) Keep in mind i have a plethora of discounts for having two other vehicles, home, and life insurance through Allstate. No accidents or tickets yet, 30 years old. |

It really varies. There was another thread like this a while back, search and you'll find huge differences in insurance rates depending on where you live.
I'm 32 with one speeding ticket on my record (from two years ago), never had an accident. I have $500 deductables, and very minimal coverage and it is still $1650 a year. I think the first ticket is a freebie in MA so even if I had a perfect record it would still be that much.

I'm paying about $850/yr.
Single, 34, and I may or may not have a 3 point ticket that's still showing up. That's Geico FWIW. Progressive wanted TWICE that much. It went up about $120/year over my GTO. |

thank god I did not buy 135i
Want to know 128i story? I pay $300 per year for 128i Coupe auto. GEICO. $500 deductable. All our cars are under same account, maybe that's one factor the added BMW has low rate?

WOW some high insurances. Age-34, I pay 1358 per year with 1000 deductable. 150000 coverage for both 135i and 99 M3.
I think the split on its 712 for the 135 and 646 for the M3. I have 1 ticket currently from 1 year ago no accidents ever on my record.
