Was it you ?
Good morning my fellow 1M pilots..
About 2 weeks ago now i got on the M6 motorway near Birmingham heading south and then bang,a VO 1M just in front of me in the middle lane. I couldnt believe my eyes at first What struck me was the road presence of this thing. The other motorists were all over it like a bad jacket. So i decided to join the party and there we were a VO and my AW 1M in formation cruising along the motorway. Anyway to get to the point i pulled along side the 1M to give a thmbs up and all that jazz,i even tooted me horn to get his attention and not once did he look round to acknowledge another 1M. Not that he had to but he never even moved a muscle in his neck to see me alongside him. So after a couple of miles i decided to leave them to it and slowly pulled away from them. Then he realised what the commotion was about. I proceeded to exit at the following junction, i gave a little wave as they went past me again, but they just looked at me gone out. Was it you? ps they were an elderly couple too !! |

Something similar happened to me. I live in a small village, and a few months after I bought my 1M somebody else living here bought a white one. I was a bit gutted because what are the chances of two being in the same village? Anyway I gave him a wave and he completely ignored me, and has continued to do so ever since. He is an old guy as well, although he used to own an E46 M3 so must be an enthusiast.

Not to thread-jack, but I saw a BSM at my club the very first week I got my AW (the only AW in Oregon out of the five we got here). As I was looking at it, the owner came out and we got to chatting.
I think that the "density" of 1M's in the UK is certainly higher than over here based on the number of cars per surface area of our respective countries. |

I also passed another VO in Guildford town centre and drew another blank. I guess it must be the colour! |

I knew that was coming... As soon as I read elderly couple I knew someone would say it was me and you're right Witham in Essex for the 1M meet is the furthest it's ever been.

This is a great thread! I've seen a few 1Ms around but I never seem to be in mine at the time (it seems inappropriate to wave at a 1M from a Nissan van or the pavement). However the one time I saw a fellow VOer whilst in mine we had very satisfactory mutual waving. Don't remember that since long gone motorcycle days. .... Anyway looking forward to seeing/meeting you all at the Ace (thanks for organising Jez!)
