Seats anybody??

My bday is coming and the gf said for this special occasion I can get car parts Anyways I'm toying with the idea of a decent seat for my track days. Needs to be comfy enough to drive long trips in and live with day to day. Ideally would like something reclinable, but I'm open to fixed for the right seat. Anybody got any ideas or recommendations?? Trying to keep this cost somewhat reasonable haha.

Chris,
Recaro pole position are nice. go with fixed if you want light. only problem is back seat access. my car is packed going to the track

Kori I'm not too worried about weight as anything will be lighter than the stock power sport seats. I'm more concerned about better lateral grip and good lower back support. I'm tired of having bruised knees from bracing myself but still want to be able to drive a 10 hour stint to ga without getting out of the car a cripple. I've pretty much figured anything recaro is out of the price range sadly

I'd guess both of you are too tall for Recaro Pole Position because the harness slots are very low. I think your best bet is to ask people at the track if you can try sitting in their cars.

Recaro CS look and feel great. BMW uses them for the Performance seats.

They do Mike...but sadly waayyyyy outta my price range haha. I'm begining to heavily lean towards the corbeau lg1's with the 5 pt harness option.

Recaro CSs are great, but coding is a challenge and you don't get airbags. You can either mortgage your house and get BMW motorsports seats, or do what I did ad that's buy used 1M seats. They're going in as we speak.

The 1m seats are the same as the regular sport seats i have now other than the orange stitching....so that would just be a lateral (no pun intended) move lol

Chris,
save up and buy some track wheels and tires. meanwhile, wear knee pads to help with getting banged up

you have a good friend inspector or mechanic to remove them before inspection? I was looking to do this too but RRT guys told me it's not worth the hassle. would like a high flow DP's at the least but not sure if it's worth the money

friend inspector haha..and mechanice. The n55 dp is a bit easier to remove i believe...should be able to do the swap on a lift in under an hour from what i hear. Speaking of RRT just talked to Wayne a few minutes ago and he recommended that I seriously take a look at the Sparco Evo 2 plus or Evo 3 that those would probably be best b/c of my size...damn being 6'3!!! Looks like a single seat for now. On a side not they said they can do coding to get rid of the airbag warnings and such....VERY NICE

If you are comfortable with using a Japanese seat in a European car than I would recommend looking into Bride seats. They offer fixed back and adjustable seats alike that are very nice. I used to have a Bridge Zeta III in another car and it was excellent. It was fairly comfortable and it was easy to clean. If you are looking for something a little more livable then the Bride Gias might be worth looking into. You can never go wrong with a good Sparco or Recaro though.

Josh,
I looked at the brides and while i love love their seats in jdm cars...they're for jdm sized guys sadly I'm barely going to fit in the evo 3 or evo 2 plus from sparco lol. This whole dieting thing needs to speed up!!

Kori,
The parts backup may not be wayne's fault. What all are you waiting on with them?

I won't ask you your waist size, but I think the Bride Zeta III XL fits up to a 42 inch waist size. Just trying to help give you some more options, amigo!

Hey no probs Josh I appreciate the input i'm 6'3 270 right (down from 295). Ironically when i was in college and playing hockey I was 205-215 depending on when in the season you caught me with 10-15% body fat and since then only have gone up one pant size lol. Shirt size is a different story though.
