Just remember to use beta link on front and rear for the best look ... The double side tap crap will fall off ..

How come the perf rotors I had on my e46 were floating and these are just normal rotors with slots and holes? Seems kind of disappointing.

I know. I wanted two piece but I only have 5k miles on this car and BMW will warranty these for 50k for free.. Not to mention, oem so if I get into a wreck it's covered under insurance where aftermarket anything else is special limits.

Understandable. It's just weird to me that BMW offers floating rotors for the E46 and not for the E82. No comprendo.

Photos of my new car!

A few photos of my "mistress" (as my wife refers to the car) with the tint installed and 975 miles on the odometer.

Looking goooood Rik. Great photography skills, too. I don't know why the tint makes such a difference on the look of this car, but it just does.

What do you think so far by the way? Curious to hear your in-depth opinions, especially with all the build up and wait time you had to endure. I think it takes awhile to get used to some of the little nuances and stuff, especially with the nav system/tech package, but I think you'll find yourself liking it more and more with each passing day.

And you glad you went with the oyster? Love the two-tone on the doors the most and bet it's much cooler with the oyster in the summer over black.

Last but not least, you're not planning on doing anything else to it are you? My sense says no, but that carbon fiber rear diffusor is always tempting, at least until I see the price.

Thanks for the compliments! I can't believe how much the tint changed the character of the car's appearance.

I absolutely love this car. It is far better than I expected. I wanted a powerful, great handling car that was small and nimble, and that's exactly what I got. When I compare to my last daily driver (G37xS), this car takes power and handling to the next level. It has excellent handling balance and lots of torque. The ride is firm, but not more so than the G37xS, and is actually less busy in many situations. Before I got the car I regretted not getting the 6M trans until I spent some time with the DCT... I love the sound the car makes as it fires off shifts in Sport mode under moderate acceleration. The exhaust notes are incredible, and the engine is extremely smooth (in contrast to the NVH and sometimes not-so-pleasant sounds of the Nissan/Infiniti VQ engine). Tech package/nav/iDrive haven't been an issue. The drone of the exhaust under load at the 2000 rpm range in 7th gear is disappointing. Fortunately I spend very little time there, and I think the drone continues to become less pronounced as more miles build up on the car. The HK stereo is ok, but the XM radio reception is unacceptable at times and results in a very tinny, low bit rate sound. I've experienced this in rental cars (not my own cars) and wonder if XM pumps a crappy signal to trial period subscribers and corporate clients like Hertz.

When I first saw the car, I was a bit startled to see how light the Oyster was. Not too many photos on these forums of Oyster interiors, and the 135is we drove on track at the Performance Center had a Taupe interior. The color tone of the Oyster complements the Mineral Grey very well, and the more I spend time with it, the more I love it. I've added a few photos of the interior.

This car is screaming for a CF rear diffusor. I'm also interested in CF interior trim. I'll probably live with the car for a while before I make a decision. I'll get some summer tires on it, then a winter wheel/tire package, new hard-wired radar detector, winter floor mats (the salt here in the winter is ridiculous).

Glad to hear you're ecstatic as a fellow mineral grey 135is owner. Welcome to the club!

I'm curious, when you're driving the DCT in sport mode, do you mean with the sport button pushed or in DS mode? Or both? Seemingly just the button makes everything more sensitive so you only have to push the gas in half as much to get the same result, but doesn't change any of the shift points, whereas the DS mode holds the gears longer, etc. Had to somewhat learn that one myself as there is no clear info on it in the manual and the forum has conflicting info.

As for the HK, I agree, the satellite sounds a little crappy at times, but you may want to mess with and/or check the equalizer as well to improve the sound. For all you know it's all out of wack. I think I have mine at a subtle U-shape, with bass 2-3 ticks up, midrange at the middle, and treble 2-3 ticks up. Also, playing high quality mp3s on the HK sounds amazing, then I go back to satellite and it sounds like crap unless I really turn it up.

I saw a space gray with oyster when I was researching and ya, the oyster is pretty light. I didn't get to see it in good lighting conditions so couldn't tell if it had more of a cream undertone or a light grey one. I think it looks great with the mineral grey, may just have to look out I hear for color transfers/smudges from like jeans and stuff showing on there.

As for the carbon fiber stuff, you might be able to sell your glacier aluminum to a forum member to help offset the CF trim costs. I've never seen that trim in person though. The only thing I might recommend as a good bang for your buck is to look into getting the stainless steel pedals that come on the manual IS's but we get shafted on with the DCT for some unknown reason. I think you can pick up a set for like $100-115 and you can put them on pretty easily yourself. Gas pedal is plug and play, but the brake is a little more work because I think it just goes over the existing brake pedal. They match the stainless steel dead pedal really well though and finish off the interior look. My 2 cents. I have some picture somewhere comparing a DCT with and without them I can dig up if you want to see it.

And the michelin PSS's of course are amazing, though if you have to buy a winter set, too, you might want to save a few hundred bucks and get the continental extreme contacts and put that money to other uses.

In the meantime, enjoy the hell out of it, get to 1200, then really enjoy the hell out of it. =)

Edit - found my pics of stock vs stainless steel pedals in an IS if that helps

Just picked up an 08 135 m sport, black on black. Completely stock about to hit 40k. This is my first euro car, I've been a jdm fan for a while. Also I've been lurking the forums for a few months. Loving the car. I'm I'm the Miami area, looking out for any meets/hangouts.

This forum has some great resources!

I actually have my stock pedals sitting here in a box that I have never opened. Wait, never mind, apparently it's just a new gas pedal in there as I had the stainless steel pedals put on before delivery. Not sure a gas pedal alone helps, but let me know.

How much you want for the spanish one? Ha! Wow, that's amazing he was able to get you those. Also nice to see that almost universally, BMW Performance Power Kit is universal in language...except for whichever weird one has Pack first.

Okay, as promised:

English:

Spanish:

Can't forget the motherland!

Then, of course, I had to give a tip of the hat to my heritage:

While I was at it:

I have to say putting those multicultural stickers all over the place was really amusing, and I'm pretty happy about the whole thing. ESPECIALLY since I didn't pay for them since my SA did the order as if the car should have come with them (which they should have, just maybe not so many languages hehehehe).
