Can anyone with a Muffler Delete get me dB readings?

As the title says.

I'm looking to get a Berk Race and I need to know what the dB readings are...specifically at full throttle and readings taken 50' away.

SCCA has some strict dB readings and I want to make sure I am within the limits.

I would not try it. Even if someone else on the internet thinks its X db, your local chapter might read it as Y and DQ you, then you are stuck trying to sell it.

Valid. Just trying to shed as much weight as physically possible.

Thinking of just fabbing up my own turn-down pipe right after the resonator to have it dump down there.

Sure, doesn't have cool looking tips but is pretty functional.

I'm running a straight pipe with no muffler...I can assure you it won't break SCCA's noise level...exhaust is still going thru pre-cats, cats, and resonators...it's somewhat louder than stock, but very pleasing...there's nice gurgling when you lift off the throttle, very racy sounding, and much easier to drive with the 6 speed because you can hear the engine...no droning at highway speeds, barely noticeable with the A/C on...

Just a note; I had John at Eurowerks in Deerfield, FL install AA's tune (he's an AA dealer)....when he called me to pick the car up, he commented on the exhaust; he said he couldn't believe how sweet it sounded with just removing the muffler and running a straight pipe out the back with dual tips...he didn't want his clients to know this, he told me, because he sells them expensive exhaust systems...LOL

Thanks. This helps alot.

It is hard to tell from youtube videos since they vary on type of mic used...etc etc.

Since it isn't really a high pitched sound, I would assume it wouldn't break dB readings. I have a friend that is running headers, 100 cell cats and 2 burns mufflers and not breaking sound.

Since I'm still stock headers, and stock 1st and 2nd section I would think I would be okay.

Did you just custom fab your own muffler?

The muffler (at the back of the car) is completely gone, replaced with a straight pipe welded in with dual tips (see photo)....All other exhaust components are stock and in place....the muffler is a heavy, worthless, boat anchor...there's a vacuum line going to the muffler to open one of the dual tips (that tells how worthless it is, under full throttle, the muffler is by-passed), make sure you plug that vacuum line.....

Do you have a video of this? I'd love to hear it.

Mind crawling underneath the car and getting a shot of where you cut and fabbed the exhaust?

Just would make my life easier to print a picture to hand to a shop and say..."Do that"

Did the shop custom fab a hanger to the custom pipe to attach to the OEM hanger?

Also, to confirm, OE diameter is 2.5"?

I already had the golf tee mod done...did that day 1 I got the car
