Hmmm, I wonder what sort of fuel consumption would get in a 135i then..... Currently I average 14L/100km in a 120i!!!
Admittedly 80% of the driving is a 10km peak hour traffic run to and from the heart of the CBD. Plus cause the 120i lacks power it needs to be given a fair bit off the line. |

You are buying a high performance twin turbo sports machine... Daaaa... You cant have that sort of performance and want that sort of explosive raw power and be looking at the fuel gauge...:iono::iono: Any way...thats just my opinion.. |

I know we all want that explosive power and if we could have more we would not give a toss about fuel consumption if it meant to have more power, but it still nice to get a nice fuel consumption, specially now with the price of petrol

Last year I was running my hobby race car on $6 per litre ELF, and using it at a rate of a litre per lap, so I still think our petrol prices are cheap.... |

I am getting 13.7 L/100km approx up to 97KM now. I can't believe how quickly the fuel needle moves to the left!
I need a bigger fuel tank~! My local service station seems to be always out of premium fuel too which is a drag. Can you put standard fuel into this car?

Is our BP 98 about the same rating as 93 in the US? If so our V-power racing 100 must equate to their 95 pump fuel.? Is that how it works or am I missing something in the conversion.

Good question Swift. I'd be interested to know if anyone can enlighten me as to what the deal is with V-power racing 100 at Shell. 2% ethanol. Has anyone got any experience or opinions about this fuel?

Current tank about 13.8.
Even 20 mins on freeway sees number drop rapidly. If you do keep it below 2500, the economy is not too bad, BUT WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO?? It's looking like 350-400 k's for a tank will be likely, depending on enthusiasm.

350 to 400? That's going to be a major problem for me. I drive to Goulburn twice a week for work - 410km round trip! I can just about get 800km out of a tank with my GTI with freeway driving.

Drove my C63 for the first half of today (120km) and 135i since 5pm today. Let's not talk about fuel efficiency difference. It's depressing.

i am seriously thinking of putting nothing but shell 100 in my car when she comes since the ethanol mix is well below the levels considered to cause any problems.
apart from price i do not see it anything negative about it and at least one station that sells it is right on my way to work anyway! |

There are differences. Each fuel company puts different additives in their fuel. Age of fuel would vary also. Sometimes you might get a 'bad' batch of fuel causing audible detonation problems esp on turbo charged/highly tuned vehicles in hot weather. I have found BP to be the most inconsistent...at least in SA.

I think the fuel economy will get better as the engine runs in (at least I'm hoping it does)
400kms from a 55litre tank is shocking! But like Joe said, it is a high performance engine so we can't expect too much economy from it... |

I was a bit concerned about running the 100 in every tank due to mixed feed back on high octane levels. But, I had no probs with 100 and if anything it increased performance and lowered my bank account... |
