Oil leak + Oil smell

I'm noticing a 6" circumference oil spot under the car after a few hours. If I ride the car hard then stop....I'll smell oil.

What are the common spots for oil leaks besides valve cover that I should look for?

This happened directly after I changed from 5w30 to 0w40 oil. I realized I wasn't using BMW approved oil and wanted to make sure I was. Coincidence? Maybe.

I have dps + jb4.

Time to remove your belly pan and check for leaks/drops.

Other common leaking areas are:

* rear crankshaft seal(behind the flywheel/clutch
* oil filter housing (OFH)
* cracked valve cover
* vanos sensors

I'm getting my valves cleaned up and valve cover gasket replaced on Monday. Cant wait to get some power back.
