Day 1 observations and opinions.
1. This is a fast car. Definitely you don't want a teenager driving it, in fact anyone with an under 30 mentality is probably too immature to handle it.
2. The brakes are simply incredible. You feel like you could flip the car on it's nose if you tried. 3. The ride is perfect (sport model). Firm, yet not overly so. You 'feel' the road through the steering wheel. Beautiful! 4. The manual transmission shifts very nice. I could only feel a very slight notch going into second gear. CDV alteration may not be necessary, jury is still out. 5. The M sport wheel is very nice, love it. 6. The standard radio is excellent. Sound is fabulous, and reception is amazing. I was getting excellent sound through 4 levels underground parking. For me - there would be no need whatsoever to upgrade from this. 7. I really really like the Jet Black. It simply looks amazing on this car. Enough said. 8. Leathette feels great, probably leather would have been better, however look at a few 5 year old BMW's and compare - I am quite happy with the black leatherette and the sports seats. 9. I am happy I got PDC. I find the view from the cockpit out back is surprisingly minimal, with the high trunk. I might even get a backup wireless camera. You never can be too careful!

Kool. You'll find the car more fun than you could imagine, the thing is an absolute beast. While JB is a bit on the fiddly side to maintain, it is absolutely worth it, especially if the little guy will be living indoors. Canadians get a particularly attractive Sport package including the M-sills plus the much sought after, though unavailable in the US, sunroof delete.
Congratulations.

Every review like this I read is a killer. Nothing but good things for the 135i. I can't wait to post a review of my own.

Many of us have no desire for the sunroof. Not a criticism of you or any other who might like the option, I don't use mine as I don't want the vertical shadows playing across my eyes while driving, it's distracting, annoying, plus the sun beating down on my head is quite uncomfortable. IMO. Man, we have it rough with this car, huh?:wink:

Thanks for the quick review. It's making the wait for mine seem even longer now!

Sunroof was a non-negotiable option for me. Had to have it. Nothing like a carefree Saturday morning cruise with the sunroof wide open - just makes the world feel perfect.

I kinda have to disagree with you here...I am 19... I understand what you are saying though. The vast majority of the kids my age should not drive a car with such power. But I do not drive like a complete idiot. I love driving...period. I have even gone so far as to go to three driving schools so that I know when and where to do stuff. The rest of the comments you made I agree 100% with!!! This car is simply amazing and, perhaps, is the most fun i have had driving a car..EVER...BMW at is BEST...

Sunroof adds something like 40lbs to the roof of the car... that can have a significant effect on the center of gravity when tracking the car. Also decreases the headroom a bit-- important for tall people wearing helmets.
As for me, I like the nice big sunroof, it really opens up the car.

- I really want the sunroof. Love having it open on cold clear days with the heater blasting or when it's just right at sunset.
- I'm getting JB and leatherette.. thanks for the quick review Lester - When I was 19 I had no business any where near a car like this. The jury is still out on 54. -Spook |
