Front tyres 130i - size options
Tyre size advice please
My 205/45/18 run flats Goodyears are no longer made and no other RFT in that size. So I am figuring a 215/40/18 P-zero to match the (really good) rear P-zeros for my 130i - good plan? |

Ditched the runflats in favour of roadside assistance and now my whole spinal system thanks me when going over speedbumps and drives on country roads, haha!

RFT's are ok - well 2nd gen
" I have 225/40/18 PZeros on and love them. "
Had a 135 and ditched the RFTs for Michelin Pss best thing I have ever done. But with my 130 less torque or better chassis not sure but the p-zeros have all the grip i need and the ride is fine. 2nd gen RFT's are better So sounds like you went square - I'm keen to stay staggered front to rear as it handles way better than my 135 ever did and don't want to mess with it |

I would go 225/40R18 AD08R, PSS or RS3s. If you want staggered, get 235 or 245 rears. I've tried all 3 rear sizes and prefer 225 square for street use.

I thought the fronts were 215/40 R18. From memory bridgestone RFT are oem on my wifes 130i which are still made. This is for a 2008 model.
They grip well but i found they are skittish and hard like most rft's. If i had the option i would not go with rft's |

If you have the M-Sport suspension, then I feel 215/40 R18 and 245/35 R18 is the correct configuration. I had to replace the rear tyres recently. I had Hankook Ventus V12 all round - very satisfied, great grip, very quite. Unfortunately, Hankook no longer make the 245/35 R18, and I had to replace the rear tyres after 35,000 km. The fronts have still lots of rubber on them. I replaced the Hankook rears with Falken FK453 at $310 each from Tyres & More. I've just driven 600 km down the Hume in indifferent weather, and I'm very happy so far. Very quiet, and handling seems at least unchanged from before.
