who has painted or wraped their roof black?

I need some advice on getting that two tone look. I have seen several photos of 135i cars with black roofs to match the shadowline trim. The look is awesome! Are the roofs being painted or is it something else?

Gloss black on Space Grey - not really noticeable under direct sun. But subtle touch.

Who in Edmonton did that for you and price? Did they do the little areas that have the roof rack mounts too or no?

Are your mirrors wraped as well or are those carbon fiber covers? Great looking ride.

do you notice that the interior of your car is much hotter with a black roof?

does the vinyl remove without damaging the paint in say 2 years from now?

does the gloss vinyl start showing micro scratches when being washed?

these are some things that have stopped me from doing this

How did they wrap the shark fin? Is it wrapped in one piece and stretched or did they wrap it with two pieces? The fin is the only thing that stopped me from doing this myself. Don't want a black roof with a white fin.... fail.

At first it was wrapped with once piece and it was done really bad lol
Redid it with 2 pieces, 1 for the back and 1 piece for the rest

Kinda thought 1 piece would be mission impossible, even with a heat gun. Where did you get your Di-Noc gloss CF from? I'd like to get some to at least check it out. Is it more dull than actual CF? If I did the roof in this and then got a CF hood would it clash?

I had it done at a local shop so I'm not sure which vendor he got it from.
It is more dull than the actual CF just cause it does not have the clear coat on it.
SO yes, if you do your roof CF then CF hood, it would look kinda weird.

IMO just get your roof gloss black on your Alpine White, then CF hood. Gloss black can match shadowline trim on the 1 series

I just order samples o 4 different CF wraps. I'm going to play around with some clearcoat to see if I can get any of them to match. If none of that pans out, I'll default to glass black. I just got the iCarbon CF hood and trunk. Planning on getting the lip, diffuser and mirror caps next. Be awesome if I could get it all to match.
