Yes it is. HOWEVER, the spy shots of the E92 seem to show that the coupe will go back to more traditional BMW roots and will make the 3-Series good looking again.

And then BMW will do a 2yr refresh and everybody'll be screaming, "resale value, how can BMW do this to us ... wah wah wah." History is destined to repeat itself.

Second that. I sincerely hope Clarkson is as offensive as he can possibly be, within reason (meaning he doesn't say something solely for shock effect - and he's not outrageously vulgar in doing so).

Why? Because free speech is free thought.

Personally, I've never been offended by a stereotype or generalization that doesn't actually apply to me, even if it's aimed at a group that I supposedly belong to - any why should I be? Granted, there aren't very many that do. Besides, have you seen the E60 M5 review? Hilarious. Top Gear is a well produced, entertaining show with entertaining hosts. Part of the charm is the fact that they seem to speak their minds - whether you agree with what they say or not, you should be able to appreciate and respect that.

By the way, I saw the E90 episode on Top Gear - and I think they're spot on. Brilliant machine - but it has no imagination and doesn't really stir the senses from an aesthetic point of view. But it's certainly not ugly.

The Z4 Coupe, on the other hand, is exciting.

Anyway, "lump of car" is a good description, albeit a bit harsh - they pointed out how small the wheels look, which is an important thing to note. I saw an E46 with the E90 325 non-sport 16s, and it looked just fine! But the E90 with the same wheels looks awfully bulky and non-descript.

I just dont give a sh*t what anyone says about the E90. I chose it so obviously I like it and that's it. It's my car, not theirs.

Me too. Dont giva a crap. I enjoy driving it every day. The bottom line: it's still "the ultimate driving machine" and that's all matter.

Jeremy Clarkson is to BMW what Simon Cowell is to American Idol.

Then again, a lot of other auto reviews are prepaid endorsements sponsored by carmakers.

Absolutely, I wish people would just admit that the E90 is pretty plain from the sides and rear, rather than try very hard to justify it looks. We buy it because we appreciate driving it, not it looks.
