X3 Loaner and 330 at BMW
So... I have a very special mod coming up (shutup longtran ) but that will be documented very soon. Anyway, my E90 is at the dealership for some ECU recall... I hope I get more power and save more gas. Do you guys know what it is? My center console armrest is having some dumb line show up on the leather, so that's getting replaced as well.
The X3 is not bad, the sunroof is HUUUUUUUGE... it extends to the back. Maybe I can get a replica hartge lip for the X3. Sunchild |

What do you think of the X3? I was in one today when the dealer was driving me to my office and I though it was very plasticky inside, and an interesting mix of Z4 and E46 interior bits. The iDrive screen was much lower resolution than the E90's
Seemed to go OK though.

The X5 is much more a BMW though than the X3. X5 is more substantial.
I agree with you though, I am not an SUV fan.

Please don't insult the Z4 interior by putting it in the same sentence with the X3... the X3 has a very cheap feel and look...the Z4 is much nicer. |

My wife has an x3. we find that it has more space inside than the x5 for less mass/bulk. As well, we got it last year, at that time (together with the x5) they were the only BMWs with the new xdrive system now available on the e90, which is lightyears ahead of the AWD BMW used before (which, frankly was not very good).
I agree that the inside could be a bit more upscale. However it drives really well, much more agile than the x5 3.0. Frankly, I would not get the current x5 because of its bulk/lack of space as mentioned before, unless I really thought I needed the third seat (which apparently the new on will have as an option). I am also not an SUV fan but my wife loves the higher driving position blah blah blah, the only thing I could do to stop her form getting the Volvo xc90 was have her test drive the BMW "just for fun". Where we live the two dealerships are basically across the street from each other.....Hey it worked. |
