1M Akrapovic Frankfurt Motorshow

Could someone who is attending please take lots of detailed photos of the system and post them up. If possible speak to the guys at the stand and find out all there is to know about the system.
Their stand is located in Hall 8 with Citroen, Peugeot, Lexus and Opel and their location within Hall 8 is BO8.

Cheers

If Jason doesn't hit it, I'll be sure to stop by. I'm getting a late start today since yesterday pretty much kicked my @ss, lol.

Can't post pics from my phone so I'll knock that out when I get home. The system looks... well, let's just say I almost embarrassed myself GREAT attention to detail and the welds are freakin gorgeous! The muffler is the only TUV approved part but that wouldn't stop me ifI had the $$$.

HTH and pics in a few hours,

Drill

Here's what I got...

The system shown is cat-back with resonators and the valve option. When the valve is closed exhaust gases go through the muffler and out the inner tips. When open, the muffler route remains open but the path of least resistance becomes straight out the drivers outer tip and across (over the muffler) to the passenger side outer tip.

Thx Drills! Pure work of art, NASA grade quality, wow!

BTW, this looks like this one has the valve feature, right?

Did the system have cats or are those just resonators?
and I notice that the pipe which bypasses the muffler when the valve is open has another pipe comming of it, where does this go?

I think it goes up and over the muffler to the other side.

The gentleman I spoke with hadn't heard it himself but by looking at it, with the valve open it's GOT to sound frickin vicious :-D

Hopefully we can one day acquire this system for less than $9K. I love driving, I love the art of racing, I love the smell of fuel, but I can not justify spending more than 3K on exhaust. I bet a good body shop could fabricate a custom titanium system sans the valve, similar to the way this is done, for a much more realistic price! I respect Akro. very much, but why create a system that is sooooo exclusive? Has anyone contacted them in regards to a group buy?

Somehow I must have missed the Akrapovic stand... I did see that Alipina uses their exhaust for the new 6er...

"Slip-On exhaust system for BMW 1 Series M Coupé" (street legal - EC Type approved - meets TÜV standards for noise):
http://www.akrapovic.com/car-exhaust...on-909232f551/
Prices in Belgium - The Netherlands - Luxembourg (without VAT):
- Slip-On system (Titanium) (M-BM/T/5H): EUR 1.514
- Carbon fiber tail pipe set (TP-CT/5) or Titanium tail pipe set (TP-T/S/4): EUR 990
- optional Wireless Kit for Exhaust Valves (P-HF597): EUR 590 ("Utilizing a single muffler arrangement, the Slip-On is designed to be modular. In its basic mode, all exhaust gases flow through the main body of the muffler, giving you a deeper rumble of an exhaust note compared to stock without any drone. In Europe this system meets TÜV standards for noise. However, the muffler system is built in such a way that by replacing a blocking plate with our Wireless Kit valve system the driver is able to noticeably increase the volume of the exhaust at the press of a button. Once activated, the majority of the exhaust gases route through the muffler bypass outlets.")

I actually prefer the look of the titanium tail pipes over the slip over carbon to be honest.....
