Not so fast. When I went to the dealer today, and looked on the sticker, it said 18 | 25. Fueleconomy.gov also says 18 | 25.

Where are you getting your data?

In fairness to JB135, I recall seeing the figure he quoted about a month ago on the .gov site and felt it was an anomaly at that time. It looks like they have now corrected it.

So I am still wondering why the 2011 135i coupe manual gets 20 city | 28 highway, and the DCT equipped cars get 18 city | 25 highway?

Could it be weight?

Weight is only about 65 lbs more, and the DCT overall ratio in 7th is 2.56 vs. 2.61 for the MT in 6th - a 2% difference. Doesn't make much sense!

It's wrong. The 128 is 20/28. The 135 is 18/25.

Listen everyone. The mpg for n55 dct is wrong everywhere. Ask yourself how the n55 gets the same mpg as n54? Why are all n55s except 135i dct getting 20/28? I tried to communicate with dealer and BMW and it its like talking to a brick wall. Why does M3 6MT or DCT get same mpg? Has nothing to do with weight and gearing difference to 135i6mt. Wet DCT is slightly more efficient than 6mt. I said enough

Why would I get 32mpg@68mph and 28.5@80. Most of the time I get 20-24 mpg

Maybe Scott can clarify this issue?

I put 1100 miles on my 2011 DCT ED from Welt to Austria, Italy, Switzerland and back to Munich in under 8 days. I avg'd 24mpg mixed driving with some spirited tunnel blasts and 150mpg autobahn bashing. If you do ED for US the car is set up for all US specs instrument wise. Too bad the tank is so small though. It fills up at 12 gallons or so from stark empty.

It'll actually hold a little over 14 gallons if you're way down. The refill reminder is pretty conservative.
