I'm also a new owner and was wondering what the safe temp was to really open her up. Thanks for the reference number of 200°F. Any info on how you arrived at that number?

Purely anecdotal, I won’t pretend that this is some official number. All I know is I stay off serious boost/stay under 3K revs until the oil leaves the 160 peg, and I wait until 200 or so before really getting into it. At the very least, I’d advise not getting into a lot of boost before the oil temp leaves the peg. It’s a topic that gets rehashed quite often, search around and you’ll probably find a more substantive answer than mine
