Car Care Products

Having just spent my summer break washing, claying and waxing my 135 and x3, then my friends RR Sport and Mini I am all out of basic product.

About to order some new stuff and wanted the consensus on general car wash shampoo and Wheel Cleaner?

TBH one shouldn't require wheel cleaner, unless the vehicle has been poorly maintained.

Regular car wash shampoo on the rims agitated with a brush is all that should be required unless its been months that the rims haven't been cleaned...

TBH I've always used meguiars NXT gen shampoo its $19 on special for 1.4L (I cant justify paying $30 for 500ml of a name brand shampoo) and I use a good quality spray wax when drying my car with my waffle weave towel (wolf chemicals quicky detailer)

if you don't already do so, suggest you visit carcareproducts at Five Dock, they are well placed to advise you based on your car care practice, depending on how pedantic or OCD you are

As do I. Have been satisfied with all of the products I've used other than their clay bar.

Anyone have suggestions on how to maintain matte black wheels?

I find them impossible no matter how much I clean them. Maybe spray them gloss black instead!!!

My gloss black wheels turn brown in 1-2 weeks too, OEM pads have too much brake dust. If I don't clean it every week it starts to cake up and gets hard to clean...

Just bought a bottle of that final inspection wheel cleaner!

Change brake pads to a low dust version. Not much else you can do, except enjoy the process of weekly wheel cleans.

Just a heads up guys, Car Care Products are running a detailing clinic in Five Dock, Sydney on March 7 if anyone is interested. The cost is $50 and it runs from 9-1. I just booked my spot. FYI, I'm not affiliated with CCP.
