Help momentary loss of power

I have a 2008 135i with 24k on it. After about 5 mn drive i pushed the car a little hard ( acceleration up to 5 or 6k in second gear) , seconds later the check engine light comes on and the car loses power , and behaves as if it's not running on all cylinders , and shudderin. I slowed down and drove it slowly back home for about 15 mn . Then at a stop light the check engine light goes off and the car seems to regain its normal power. Any suggestion ?

Btw I have a dinan stg 3 software

A few possible reasons...could be any of below or possibly other reasons...

- coilpacks
- torn charge pipe
- fuel pump cannot handle the fuel demands of the tune
- carbon buildup

Try and scan the car for codes especially if you got a CEL. My money is on the coilpacks.

Sounds like failing fuel injector or coil. Check logs for which cylinder is misfiring. Move the coil - does the issue follow the coil? What you are describing is what I experienced and it ended up being a bad injector.

I had this same issue under warranty, wound up being a cylinder 5 misfire due to a bad injector. Failed at 12.5k miles. Haven't had the issue since.
