My CA / Good Friend up at Wide World BMW in NY just called me at 9am (I guess right when they opened) and told me they had gotten their first allocation spot for a 335 Coupe! He had pushed me up on the list so I was at number 1 and told me that this car would be one of the first if not the FIRST coupe the dealer sees. He woke me up out of a deep sleep because he needed to get the correct options because the sales manager said if he would just go to the next guy. Here is how I spec'd out my 335:

Alpine White / Coral Red / Brushed Aluminum
6 Speed Manual
Premium Package
Sport Package
Comfort Access
Navigation with IDrive
Heated Seats
PDC

He said the way it looks is that my car is in status 112 or for any BMW Guru, that means awaiting production. He said I should be getting a VIN within the next few days. He also told me that the way it looks I should see this car in mid July because it is being BUILT starting TODAY!!! I am so pumped guys and I just wanted to share with my fellow E90ers....:rocks:

I really have to get a move on parting out my E46....

All that info, all that progress, all these pre orders, and no price. What if he told you it was going to start at $45k, would that change anything?

I am not saying it will cost that, but theoretically it is possible. It is crazy that orders are happening so soon and no price.

My info up to last week was that only LHD press and launch cars are currently being built. The First batch of RHD press cars have been allocated VIN's ( they have had them for about 2 weeks ), but havent entered production yet.

Customer cars will only follow after that.

I also understood they will be doing the same as the initial E90 and stockpiling the cars till the official launch date.
If so many cars may be ready in say August, but wont be released to dealers for delivery.

Im freaking out...my CA is off work today. He said it should come out soon but the dealership hasn't gotten any allocation spots yet. Aslo he said we should have some time(weeks) to figure out all the options and ill still be one of the first. Whats going on? Are they being built now or not?

I heard loaded with options including navi will be around 55k

Darrel: That will not really change anything...I have been waiting for this car for a while and will be trading in my E46 Coupe for this. Starting at 45k wouldn't deter me from this car...but it wont be starting at 45k...

Italian Stallion: I have a feeling that this car they are ordering for me is their "dealer" allocation because my CA is a close friend of mine and he has been pushing and pushing to get this car ordered and to be first. I want to go in there and talk with the sales manager today and find out exactly what the deal is. I just know my buddy would never bullshit me.

E90Fleet: I don't think my car is being BUILT right now but my CA said it is in status 112 and its awaiting production. When I get a VIN I will let you know but I think BMW is pushing for sooner than their expected deadline.

DTDrew: No chance in hell...unless all options will be 15k. Base is going to start around 40...watch

All the other guys: They are being built now as pictures have shown. I think it was Jason who posted those pictures with the US Spec'd 3 coupes just sitting in a lot. Those dealer cars, in my opinion, are already made. Its time to start pumping out some of the customers cars...I will obviously post many pictures when I get her...As soon as I get a VIN, the wait is going to kill me but if I can do it for the past few months, what is another 6 weeks...Stay tuned guys...

Base is $40k. You would have to do every single option to come in that range, and I still doubt you could hit it.

We still have no *Official* word on the price yet. The best estimates say just below 40K.

i think base is going to be more than 40k. Base 330i loaded with all the options is close to 49.. even the 2006 330ci coupe is base at 37,600 with 225 hp. Then you know how BMW works... everything an option.. If they make the options standard like the e46 m3, there shouldnt be much more to add to it.

congradulations bro! ive put a deposit down on a 335i sedan, and i was told mine would be the first the dealer sees also. I havn't done options yet, but im stoked!! I was told late october for delivery

because ppl are telling me the 1st set of the car usually get lots of problems and bugs, so i guess i will be waitting! and i wanna hear how they handle and feel before purchasing=)
