2010 135i M Sport
It's got 77,000 miles on sale for just under $20k.
Been looking awhile, never planned on purchasing one with over 60k miles but considering its newer than the 2008 and 2009s I've seen, it's got me thinking. Is a newer car with higher miles better/worse than a older car with less miles? Assuming same prices. What do you guys think? |

Test drove it this morning. Several malfunctioning lights: seat belt, airbag and then the CEL turned on halfway through the drive. By the naked eye it was clear several engine mods were previously done. I want to mod myself. Rear tires also had almost no tread. Not the car for me.
Still curious what the opinions out there are regarding the "newer year and more mileage" vs "older year and less mileage" debate. Thanks |

I'd run from this one. Sounds beat to death.

I think I would chose older car less miles in general. Usually that means the car was better taken care of or maybe sat in a garage for a while. It also depends what KIND of miles were put on the car.
Smart move walking away from that 135. There is one out there for you. |

2008 - 2010 are all N54s. So if the injectors, HPFP, and some other parts have been updated to the latest hardware, I would pick the car with the lowest miles. But the big difference between 08 vs 09 and up is the updated iDrive. Not sure if you care about that, but it is something to think about.

Thanks for the thoughts. That car, along with a different 2010 135i sport(non-M) are still for sale after a month. Confident in my decision to wait.
Feels like i'm trying to find a needle in a haystack sometimes just to find "the one". Been kind of leaning towards a '09 M-sport due to the wheels and headliner opposed to the '08 M-sport. As for iDrive, if the car happens to have it, great/added plus, but it's not a deal breaker. |
